I found these by accident and boy oh boy, they're the best mechanical pencil for everyday writing! I would want something a little nicer for drafting, but these are great for writing for class or at home, and even drawing and sketching! Feels great in the hand, and the twisting eraser is a great feature! These are good erasers, too; never had a problem for over a decade with it drying out. Refill packs are available. I prefer the lead action being a press of the cap; prevents you from accidentally advancing the lead during normal use, and allows for a complete grip area.Well balance, light without feeling breakable, and not too spendy that you'll worry about losing it! And trust me, if you loan these out for someone in class they ain't coming back. I have a lot more eraser refills than I'll ever use because I have to keep buying pencils, but at this price point who cares?0.7mm is also my favorite lead thickness, but this comes in other sizes, too. All the other Twist Erase models are... well, "junk" is perhaps a tad impolite, but they don't hold a candle to the Twist Erase III.

I don't really know how old these are or how I settled on buying them (probably ratings), but this is the mechanical pencil that should eliminate all other mechanical pencils. Why? Because they're solid, the perfect size with a built in rubber grip AND they have those incredible Pentel erasers built in AND they're extendible (or whatever the opposite of retractable is) AND they're refillable! This is truly an engineering marvel. Simply twist to extend the eraser as it's used up and pull out to replace it when it reaches its end. And to replace the lead, just pull the eraser mechanism out. It's amazing! I am buying these and tossing all my old mechanicals. They have made every other design obsolete.Durability: I honestly don't know about durability since these are new to me, but the rest of my old designs, many Pentel versions, are fine many years on. One design, with a retracting tip, has not aged well and the rest have those tiny, hard erasers. All useless after finding this model.

Writing is very nice. I like how I can hold the pencil has a good grip. You can write pretty long.

I’ve used mechanical pencils for years. I used Paper Mate previously, and I’m still getting adapted to these. The grip is good and feels comfortable in my hand. I tend to push down too hard on the paper, breaking the graphite. Nifty eraser. P.S. the label looks tacky, and the pen is tacky on my hand when you peel it off

I've been using these pencils since high school. They are sturdy and very well made; they last for years and years. The twist eraser is great too, considering the extra length of the eraser.

Used for reminder note taking. The eraser sure comes in handy. Easy and comfortable to use
