These are loud and will surely get someone's attention if they go off. Lately in my town there has been alot of lawlessness; more than usual, at least to my knowledge and its very scary especially for women at night and the elderly. These will also hopefully scare unleashed dogs if they come charging when walking your own little pets. They are battery operated so you can also buy the battery here on amazon and they have a built-in flashlight. Colors are nice also. I have one on my purse along with my pepper spray and on my key chain and inside my car. I also gave some to my daughters, one who works graveyard shift at the local hospital, and one to each of my grand kids. I retired in the beginning of winter and gave some to my co- workers as well as it would soon be getting dark by the time they would be getting off work, especially if they had to work overtime as we were sometimes asked to do during winter workloads. Hopefully none of us will ever have to use them, but if we do at least we'll have something to at the very least get someone's attention who will help or get help. Over time I've purchased several of these alerts to give to family, friends and neighbors. These are pretty and loud and have a built in flashlight and are reasonably priced. I strongly recommend these.

I initially wasn’t going to write a review, but after tonight I have to. I bought a second set of these after I bought my first set last year and misplaced them all. I have one in my car and one on my key chain. I gave the other 3 to my mom. I sent my boyfriend to my car to get something out of it, fall asleep two minutes later, and I’m woken up to the sound of a fire alarm. My roommates and I are panicking because we don’t know why the alarm is going off. We’re frantically texting our building groupchat and a few people respond they can hear the alarm, too, from a floor below us. Finally, I see my broken alarm, with the pin MISSING, sitting in my boyfriend’s hands and put two and two together. It’s 12 AM and I don’t see the pin anywhere, so I figure I’ll just break it. I get a hammer, try smashing the thing, and it doesn’t budge or break or crack. I’m banging on this thing like my life depends on it. Nothing. I send my boyfriend off to go look for the pin/string, and we finally silence the little bugger. For a 2 inch alarm that weighs like 3 ounces, it had everyone in our dorm fooled thinking it was a fire. Now, I’ve never ever pulled the pin out, even accidentally, so I had no idea it could/would be this loud. Also, the pin isn’t something that can easily just slip out, bc everyday I have my keys twisted in things, rubbing against things in my book bag, and shoved in tight spaces, so please don’t worry about the pin falling out (unless you’re SUCH an oblivious, rough man that you somehow lost a pin that hadn’t come out in months after only having the keys in an EMPTY pocket. I still have no idea how he managed to pull out the pin and DIDN’T KNOW. Ugh, men. *facepalm*) This little sucker packed a PUNCH and if people on our floor and UNDER our floor heard it too, it’ll no doubt be loud enough to warn anyone nearby, on the horrible chance it actually needs to be used. Because my boyfriend somehow pulled the pin out AND broke it off the keychain (again, I DON’T KNOW HOW. This thing is SO STURDY), it’s not usable anymore so I have to re-order a third pack. If you’re having second thoughts, don’t. Buy this alarm or at least another one with 140 DB. This could save a life or at the very least, prevent a horrible trauma from happening to you or someone you love.

Bought these as stocking stuffers and tried them all out and they seem to work well. The alarm is loud and the LED light is very bright. They come with batteries already installed. They have a split ring on a short metal chain so they can be attached to a key ring, etc. The fabric strap can be pulled easily to sound the alarm but it's not so loose that it will just fall out. These would be good for elderly people as a way to sound the alarm if they fell, etc. and of course they are handy because of the flashlight. There are a variety of colors and they seem to be well made.

Bought these for my granddaughter who got her license and first job..She carries mace but now she is working til close at a high end retail store. She always parks under a light in the lot but I thought having an alarm would work better if she ever needed it. I tried the alarm and I will tell you it is very loud and piercing. I bought the 5 pack so everyone us girls can have one.
