I wanted to get rid of my points in my Autolite distributor and this worked great. My coil had only one wire so the included instructions weren't good, but a call to Pertronix ironed it all out quickly. Save yourself the trouble and take the distributor out before installation, just easier. "The hard way is the easier way". I keep the old properly adjusted points in the car along with a screwdriver and wrench just in case. If I ever need it, it's there waiting. One thing with points, they probably will not stop working without warning. That's the only thing that makes me nervous about the Pertronix but honestly, I don't expect any issues.

This module is specifically made for 6-volt positive ground ignition systems. This module along with the Pentronix resistor wires has improved the spark to the engine . I will state the module requires a 1.5-ohm primary resistance and my stock coil was much more than this so I did have to change the coil. Luckily I had a latter model coil that was easily adapted to comply with the primary resistance.
