This is for my squirrel. When I first received the package, I opened it and was at a loss as to what to do because there was no manual. But I soon realized that it is divided into three parts and you just need to assemble it to use it. I was worried after reading other reviews, but there was nothing leaking or anything like that. I hope my squirrel ChooChoo likes this water station.

I was tempted to give this 2 stars, but if you have a small pet in a cage, this would be a nice and reliable 4 star product so I am giving this 3 stars instead. Also, this product did not come with any instructions and I do not enjoy "figure it out yourself" products. I selected this product because the description says this is a "portable" water bottle "convenient for you to carry with you when walking, traveling or hiking" and I disagree. This system is too much of a hassle for transport. It is a clunky 3-part system that is not easy to pack and transport like other portable pet systems. The bottle is more or less a squeeze bottle with no lid so and the bottle does not stand right side up. So if the nib tip is pressed or the bottle is squeezed when the bottle is not fully upright, the bottle will be leaky. There is also a leak point at the joint where the water bowl connects to the base, which is a design flaw. I believe this would be suitable for a caged pet because you can attach the bottle system in such a way that the water dish floats inside the cage at any height you select and you can keep it at head level so your pet does not have to strain its neck. I also like that the dish and dial will then be inside the cage while the water bottle and base will be outside of the cage so easy access for refills and cleaning. The product has value for this specialized use, which is why I give it 3 stars. If this stays level inside a cage and you use rubber or something like that at the connection point, the leak point should not be a problem.

We recently brought home two lion head bunnies. One uses the water bottle on the side of the hutch with no problems. The other one seemed to prefer a bowl. As expected, the bowl would get dumped every day from them hopping around. I was happy to find this solution on Amazon as it would offer the bowl but also be secured to the side of the hutch. This was the perfect solution, and the bottle reservoir is nice so that it doesn't need to be filled daily.
