I've got to tell you about this bark collar. It's been a game-changer! We used to struggle with her barking at everything on our walks, but within a few days of using this collar, she almost stopped barking completely. After a couple of weeks, she's been super quiet. The only downside? The battery life isn't great - it lasts just a day or so. But honestly, I don't mind the frequent charging when it works this well. Totally recommend it if you're having the same barking troubles!

I bought this at the end of August and loved it--at first. By early October, the indicator lights stopped working but we could still turn it on and off by listening to the sound indicators. Then it began turning itself off randomly so we never knew when it was working and when it wasn't. Others have had trouble with the collar zapping the dog inappropriately, but we didn't have that issue. Now, even though it's newly charged, it doesn't seem to work at all. I'm very disappointed bc it was expensive, and now it's too late to return it--but after reading lots of other reviews on various sites, I'll not waste another chunk of change and buy it again. Very disappointing bc it's small profile is actually far better suited to my silky terrier than regular bark collars.

My wife and I have been long time PetSafe buyers. We started out with PetSafe collars from over a decade ago and we've had to buy more and more for our fur babies over time. Now usually these collars are self explanatory: Bark = Shock. We tried every other device before going this route: high pitch sound collars, collars that spray liquid, machines that make high pitched sounds, and none worked for our pack until we tried the static collars. Sadly, today we put the new, working collars on for a day or two and then go back to the older, broken ones on our babies for 90% of the time, which I'll explain later. Now our dogs are small, shih tzus, and we've had the larger petsafe shock collars that were like anchors around our dogs necks but this new one is actually really great in that aspect. It's thin, small and almost looks like a regular collar when being worn. However that's also its largest negative! Petsafe collars used to have batteries that went as long as 6 months+ or as little as 2 months. This new nano is the worst by far as the max I've gotten is three days and the collar was off for some of that time! That is insane as I remember our first petsafe allowed you to use your replaceable cell batteries 2032 (same as in a car key fob). Then I guess Petsafe realized they could charge for batteries so they started with their proprietary batteries that were made by them and cost four times the amount of a regular battery. Next they moved to rechargeable batteries which still made it at least 2 months or more before needing a charge. So knowing you're only going to get 1 to 3 days from these Nanos are a joke, a rather bad one! Our dogs had previously began to realize that our fleet of broken Petsafe collars were no longer working and barking became the norm again in our home. After the first two weeks of owning the nanos we actually kept them charged but then went back to our broken collar collection once our fur babies knew that these new collars meant business (aka actually worked). We did this because charging these nanos became a full time job.I mean if my cell phone, that is super thin and can do almost everything known to man, gets almost two days battery life while this little shock collar from 2024 can barely eke out 48 hours?! All while I have Petsafes previous generation "Elite Little Dog Bark Control" collar that got close to 6 months battery on Petsafes own proprietary replaceable batteries. And that collar was $125 8 years ago! So what happened Petsafe?!The collar itself is also horribly designed as the plastic portion is extremely stiff (as many reviewers say) and it won't naturally bend around your dogs neck. This causes it to move and spin around and it burnt my dogs neck pretty badly. The benefit to have the "anchor" static collars was that the shock portion would stay in the front under the neck where it belonged. Also sitting in front of me is a decades worth of Petsafe and other brand barking collars (see review image).Petsafe has really gone down hill in terms of quality as the plastic on these new devices is so much thinner and weaker than previous collars. The material for the collar itself is twice as thin as the previous generation collars and the clasps feel brittle like they arent going to make it a few months let alone a decade (as our previous collars made it). In my image check out the first 3 to the left as they are from around 2013 and the red one, third from the left is from 2023. Look how the clasps and collar are a quarter of the size of the older models. As far as the nano collar working, it does its job, but going from worrying about battery life maybe twice a year to every two days is an unbelievable negative that makes this collar nearly worthless. And the fact that it can spin around due to the rigid plastic can cause unnecessary shocks due to the noise the collar makes while turning. Now I'm in for a penny, a pound and a shih tuz as I had to buy 3 nanos for my "pack". This is how all the nanos function and it's not a "one-off". Also oddly enough when I bought mine last week the new nano price was $75 and now Petsafe has jacked the price to $100! I ended up buying the used, "like-new" Amazon warehouse ones and two of those came new in the box for $50. The 3rd came in a bag with all the parts. I guess returns are the norm for these things and many must have bought them and changed their minds. So paying $50 basically new, instead of $75 was a steal IMO, but now at $100 it's a necessity! So if you need a bark collar maybe go old school and get an older petsafe collar unless your dog is a light barker. If your fur babies are big time, big headache barkers (like mine) stay away from the nano unless you want to add, "Rechargeable collar technician" to your resume!

I am loving the collar in the respect that my 10 month old 8 lb Pomeranian will absolutely not make a sound when wearing. My problem is it will randomly shock him. He can be laying on the couch quiet as a mouse and will yelp and panic. I'm not sure what to do about this. I have looked at the manual online and nothing showing to reset and have noticed this on other reviews. PetSmart HELP please. I want this to work.

So I am giving it five stars. However if you see by my picture I am pinching it closed. This collar is far too stiff out of the box. It will choke the dog if trying to get it snug to work. What I did is pinch it like in the picture. Put heat gun on it to soften the plastic. Be careful not to heat the unit. Let it cool and repeat a couple times. It now fits my dogs neck perfectly.

Purchased this collar for my 10lb Dachshund. The first two weeks or so the collar worked great. But in that ten days or so it has consistently corrected her with no barking or any other sounds in the room. Also, there is no way to regulate the level of shock received. This would be a significant improvement. I returned the collar.
