I bought these for installing wired landscape lights for a customer. The wire nuts that came with the lights would do horribly in wet areas so I researched what I needed to buy to keep the wires safe from getting wet (sprinklers, rain, etc)These larger pieces have a silicone area inside them so that if water were to get inside it would not disrupt the connectivity. I would suggest that when you strip the wires that you secure them tight to each other with the wire nut provided and then push them to the bottom of this wire encasement. Works like a charm! You’ll thank me later!
