there were also a million broken shards, right out of the box. 4 star for the sound it produces, 0 stars for the quality of packaging. I read all of the reviews prior to purchasing, looking for this potential issue. None.

The quality is great and it works great for any string! My violin has a beautiful sound to it and it's super easy to hold and grip onto when using the rosin. Ignore the price. You must buy this! It's totally worth the price.(It does kind of drop a lot more debris than most rosins do, but that's fine. You can just clean your instrument)

This was a gift for my wife. She loved it. It gives attached to a handle, so it makes it easier to apply to the violin. It worked as expected and the violin sounds amazing!
