These are a bit smaller than standard rosin blocks. They are certainly large enough to work on a violin or viola bow. I use this on my much smaller Psaltery bows. The grip from the rosin looks to be middle range, not too tacky, not too hard. I pre-scored mine with 150 grit sand paper. Good value for the price.
