Product Description

pizza stone 16 inch

Arcedo cordierite pizza stone is much more efficient than metal pizza pan. It draws out the moisture from the dough, making the pizza base crusts crispy and avoiding sogginess at the core, which often occurs with metal pans. The rectangular baking stone for oven and grill is perfect for cooking homemade pizzas and frozen pizzas. Besides, the baking stone can be used to make bread, cookies, rolls and more.

It's great! Holds heat well, nice and big. The pizza I am making now is fantastic. Tip: USE PARCHMENT PAPER. The paper may scorch around the edges at 550F or above, doesn't matter. The pizza will slide off your peel and off the stone after cooking like a charm, and your stone will remain clean as well!

I washed it and heated it to 425 degrees. I put a premade crust from a shelf stable bag on it. It came out lighter and less tough than the one I baked on a baking sheet. The size of this is extra large extending off one end of the oven rack. The problem is that there was a synthetic smell and then even an after taste and the dough wasn't even wet. I am not sure what they made this with, but it is supposed to withstand a campfire. I have a slight headache now from eating one and a half servings of this pizza or half a small pie. It could be because out of an abundance of caution that I did use castile soap on it when it said to never use soap. It will cling to water and soap. When I used it again after not using anything to clean it but water, I didn't get the taste and smell. The pizza somwhat stuck to the pan also. I had to pry it off with a metal pizza peel. I didn't use any flour on it, but I assumed it would be nonstick. It is rather heavy and not very easy to store. The problem is that you can only use water and a scrub brush to clean it. That makes it hard to clean and you end up with stains all over it. I think there is somewhat of a learning curve to get used to heating and cleaning it. It does produce a light and crispy crust.

ASIN: B0919H7SQP $35.99Pizza Stone for Oven 16 Inch, Round Baking Stone for Bread Thermal Shock Resistant BBQ Grilling Pizza Pan Cordierite Cooking Pan With PE ScraperThe stone is 16" round. I have a standard sized GE oven and the stone fits in it neatly with about an inch of clearance at front and back. I've been looking around for pizza stones for a while and this is a larger size (12-14" is not unusual) and a good price for the size of stone it is.I made the mistake of not reading the directions when I tested the stone the first time. You should put it on the bottom rack, and preheat it to 500F (or as high as your oven goes) for 40-60 minutes. If you're making frozen pizza, defrost the pizza (even if the directions say not to). The moral of this story: read the directions, even if you think "it's a pizza stone, how difficult can it be to use?"I had less than perfect results, probably because I put it on the middle shelf, preheated to 400F, and didn't defrost my pizza. Nevertheless, it didn't do too bad a job. I've had problems with this particular brand of pizza getting cooked on the bottom in the middle. Using this stone, the pizza was cooked on the bottom in the middle (but the crust was not as crisp as I'd like)When I get another pizza and can try the stone again, I'll follow the stone's directions and update.

This pizza stone has worked well for my family so far. It’s made of caldierite and it feels very high quality. The pizza stone is easy to use and comes with well-written instructions. We eat a lot of frozen pizza and you do need to heat the stone up prior to baking the pizza. It’s also good to know to not use soap while cleaning this as it’s a porous stone and will soak up the soap. I love this as it’s even easier to clean.I have used the Pampered Chef pizza stone before and this is comparable in my opinion. I do wish this one came with a wire rack to lift it out of the oven but that would make it more expensive. The price of this stone is on point (about $40 at time of purchase). I’m excited to learn more about how to best use this with my homemade pizzas as I love to have a crispy crust.

This stone is super heavy and retains a ton of heat. perfect for someone trying to get the most heat out of their home oven. I really want to perfect making homemade pizzas at home and I think this is a great tool to do that. Even if you end up using a steel, this is still nice to keep in the oven while it preheats for more thermal mass. The size of this is about as big as it can be to fit in a home oven while still being round.I also used this for a frozen pizza and it made a really nice frozen pizza with a crispy bottom as well even with not a lot of preheat time. It says not to season it since it is porous an would ruin the stone. if you use it right and heat it up super hot before putting raw dough, it will naturally be "nonstick".Also, something to note with these types of products is that they will get stained the more you use them, that's the beauty of the product, so don't get upset when that happens, that just means you're actually using it.

The stone really works well with pizza up to 16" as it's exactly the size indicated. The thickness is exactly what my other one is and gives adequate even heating it advertised. As indicated by the product, no cleaning is needed if you use it correctly. The manual is kind of wrong on some things like if the dough sticks you should increase temperature... I've found that adding corn meal or other coarse flour at the bottom will keep it from sticking. Overall I'm pretty impressed with the stone.
