My wife has only used Pampered Chef pizza stones in the past. The one and only one we had broke in the oven when she put a frozen pizza on it. Strange. This one, like Pampered Chef will turn color over time. They always look like they need washing to get the "dirty" discoloration out, but it won't come out and isn't supposed to. No worries there. Instructions say to never use oil, butter or grease on the stone.One issue I am not crazy about: You are supposed to heat the stone prior to using it (20-30 mins). I understand the concept, I just don't like the idea that I have to " cook" this first, then cook my pizza. I do like my pizza crispy, so I will have to precook if I want to continue using this stone.

It works great, but like any stone you can't clean it once it's dirty. The scrapper that is included can only get off so much
