This pump is a must have if you own a pool. It is super easy to use; you find the deepest spot of water on your cover , drop it in, position the hose and plug it in. For those complaining that it doesn't have a automatic shut off there is a simple fix for that. After you start seeing water draining out of the hose simply unplug the unit! The water will continue to drain (think 'siphon') and the pump is turned off. Easy fix. I will add that the water does drain a tad slower with the pump off but not enough to really make a difference and it saves you from burning your pump's motor. Occasionally the pump will get clogged with leaf debris and need clearing out. Just pull the debris off the openings where the water enters and you're back in business. I also use this to drain a few feet of water out of my pool for winter closure. I put it on the steps about a foot down. I assume if you don't have steps it would work just as well sitting on the bottom of your pool. I highly recommend this pump, its low cost and works great. It comes with a hose and 3 different size attachments for 3 different width hoses. If you want you can buy a larger bore hose that will drain faster, the attachments are for just that, but I have no problem using the hose that came with it. It drains fast enough for my purposes. I actually had to buy a 2nd one because my MIL borrowed mine and loved it so much for her pool that she kept it and gave me money for a new one! Buy it, you won't regret it.

I didn't exactly buy this for pool draining. I had a bit of flooding in my basement and needed something to get the standing water moved to the sump pump efficiently . Decided on this pump mainly because of the price. I only had it running for a couple of hours and it got all of the water easily out. It's quiet and effective. Would absolutely recommend.

I bought this pump to empty my pond after heavy rains. It works great! Even though the bottom of the pond is full of leaves and mud, the pump empties all the water and doesn’t suck up and debris. I works completely submerged or in a few inches also. The ONE problem is the hose. The hose is weak and crimps easily. You have to make sure it’s positioned so there are no bends in it. I find this annoying as it’s supposed to have a thick sturdy hose, but instead it’s thin and weak and folds over in itself.

Ordered this the end of November, but living in the desert southwest, we rarely get rain so have not used this until 2 days ago. Well for the first time in over 210 days we got about 3 inches on our pool cover. The pool cover having sat for almost 3 months with periodic very windy, dusty conditions it turned into what looked like a shallow version of the Mississippi River. I was doubtful that such a small pump could not only pump that much water, but that much muddy water!!! But it came through like a champ!!! I obviously had to use the leaf skimmer first to get all the larger debris out of the water but this pump cleared every bit of water that made it to the bottom of the pump along with all of the dirt!! I used the pool brush to push the dirt and water towards the pump as the water got shallower and ended up moving it to 2 different areas on the pool cover until the pump was basically sucking air. I am absolutely impressed that this little guy sucked all of that out without stopping or even sounding like it was struggling! I will say that the drainage tubing is pretty flexible so it kinks easily......just have to make sure it is straight and not kinked along the length of the tubing and also where it attaches to the pump itself........... I just rested the pump near the edge of the pool and placed the tubing on a small bucket to keep it from kinking off the flow. IMO if you keep an eye on it so it does not kink and are diligent about making sure it isn't attempting to suck up large debris that will clog it, it is worth every penny and then some!!! Thank you so very much!!!!

I have a 600gal spa and it takes over 2 hours to empty using this pump. I wish there was a way to stop such claims. Works well but it’s sloooowwwe

This pump does an excellent job of removing the water quickly and quietly. I expect many years of good service from this high-quality pump. And it’s a great value. The included hose and the length of the electrical connection make it easy to use without having to add any extensions
