Great quality which makes it heavy of course but not that heavy you can’t out it away every time. It’s appealing to the eye and matches are grey Marley floor we also purchased from this company. Their customer service is above par and it’s only place I will ever buy dance supplies like thisFrom. My board arrives 2 days after I placed the order and it showed it would take 7 days at least so I was shocked to see it at my front door. It’s sound is great. It’s just what one should expect. It’s made to practice moves when you can’t be at studio or in my case Marley floors aren’t for tapping. (Highly recommend this companies Marley flooring. I bought the top of line so it’s thicker Than most and it’s amazing!!

I already wrote a 20 minute review and deleted it by mistake. It is so important for me to review this company that I am writing it again.I am not reviewing so much the product but the company.Purchased a tap board for my daughter for Christmas. She had just started tap and I was trying to encourage her practice and fun at home. The box was never even opened. When she unwrapped the gift she didn't know what was in the box so I told her. I was so psyched!! She was not. She told me that she was taking tap because it was something to do, not because she loved it. Damn! Missed again I thought! I had invested a ton of time into choosing this board. I spent hours and hours and hours researching boards and the companies that make them. This was hands down the very best board I could get for my daughter within a range of $50.00 below Stagestsep's price point and even up to $200.00 above Stagestep's pricepoint. It was a fine board. I was extremely confident. Reviews, not only on Amazon but also across the web, especially of the sound the board makes while tapping on it were very high, and after all, if the board doesn't make the correct or loud enough sound while tapping on it, it's worth nothing. That is what tap is all about, the sound.I pulled it up on Amazon and clicked on Return. Then, I began researching once again how to return this huge and heavy item. It was very daunting. I researched shippers, cost, drop off vs. pick up etc. etc. While I was figuring out what I was going to do I received an unprecedented email. It was from Stagestep. They were reaching out to me to help facilitate the return of the tap board. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Their help was unsolicited. I never reached out to them. This has never happened before. In general, companies don't want returns. They don't want to lose a sale. They don't want to give the money back. And, they certainly "do not" reach out to their consumer to help them return their item! I was SHOCKED! Here I was sitting in the center of this huge conundrum wondering how I was going to proceed, a very friendly email came in giving me step by step instructions directing me in how to handle this and also invited me to contact them with questions! I did contact them, responding with questions. All were answered in a very helpful and friendly manner! I am still amazed how easy they made this! I am totally impressed with this company!!! While I probably won't have need to purchase their products again (never know though, tap may take off with my daughter and I may be buying one day yet!), I wish I would. I urge you to consider Stagestep for their products and their customer service.I am just about to bring the tap board to UPS this morning, but it was really important to me to get this review written before I left because once I bring it to UPS and it's in the system, I may no longer have the opportunity when I get home as it may show as returned.Stagestep is one of the finest companies I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. I looked at so many options before picking this, and I'm so glad i picked it. We are short on space, so i needed something my kid could easily prop against an already crowded wall on her own. This is totally doable with this narrow board, which is what we needed v a square. Sounds great and is sturdy thus far. Large enough to practice most anything and smaller space actually helps with some things like wings!

I love this tap board- absolutely perfect

Surprisingly well built! My Grand daughter loves this for practicing her dance routines.

Definitely glad I went with this one over the smaller version. It’s definitely nicer to have more space to dance. This board does not scratch or damage the floor it’s on top of. Be careful not to stand too close to the edge as it will tip. Overall this thing is great! It’s not slippery at all in tap shoes. I even found it gave me good traction with my pointe shoes too! It feels just like dance floor. Only thing I will say is that it makes taps LOUD. I can’t use it at night because it will wake everyone up 😆

The board was shipped fast and I thought it was very heavy and sturdy but I’m not sure if it’s for pleasant sounding tap dancing. They sound different, it isn’t too bad with space. A little bigger than an average smart tv. The board is well made and gets cold fast, foaming really is nice . Over 200 is very steep, but you get what u paid for…perfect for dancers and exercise.

I love the board, it has pretty decent sound and it is so nice to be able to practice at home! I am 5’6” tall and the board is just the tiniest bit too small for me to fully practice, I have to contain my steps just a bit more than usual. Slight sound distortion around where the handle is in the board. All of this doesn’t stop it from being great - especially at a good price. My only major complaint is that it’s pretty heavy - I usually leave it out all the time unless we are having guests over because it is like lugging it around.
