30 years ago I bought a Porter Cable 4212 Dovetail Jig. Requires specific sizes for router bits or it will not work. PC has been absorbed by DeWalt/Stanley and local stores no longer support parts. This bit is a PC bit complete with the identification number embossment. It is identical in all respects to my original bit which has lost its edge. I work with Baltic Birch and the glues are very aggressive. Lots of smoke and effort are required to machine the drawer components. Finally had to replace this straight bit. It should outlast me. I'll let my son figure out to replace this one when it finally 'dies'. Found this at Acme Tools on the internet.

Was looking for one to fit my De Walt dovetail jig and found that this one from Porter Cable was an exact match for what I wanted as various De Walt dealers said they were no longer available for my DE jig which is probably 15 years old.Perfect match and dovetails to date have been excellent.Fast shipping to New Zealand so couldn't fault the service or product.

I ordered this bit because I had somehow misplaced the bit that came with my Porter Cable dovetailing jig. The bit works well, and I have absolutely no complaints about it, but I can tell that it is going to dull much faster than some of my better - and far more pricey - bits from Whiteside. For more than occasional use, but less than everyday use, this bit is just great. If you're going to use it everyday or for a business, I would look to a top-end router bit.

Tool is exactly what I needed to make dovetail drawers. I holds it's edge over many drawers and cuts with minimal tearout.

Needed for Porter Cable dovetail jig to do dovetails with. I have built 6 drawers with it and so far everything looks as it should.
