From the Manufacturer

This products has features that are both impressive and unique. Topping the list is the new "Star Drive" technology which virtually eliminates camout for a smooth, effortless drive every time. Chances for splitting wood are greatly reduced by the patented cross-cut threads and the wood biting cut point. These two features combine to prevent wood splitting by grinding wood and removing fibers from the hole.

Really good lag screws. Being coated these can be used interior and exterior. I try to keep these on hand for building projects and home repairs.

The bit should be able to turn the screw. It is junk. The company even states to use the proper torx bit!Happily, I had my own bit, and the screws are everything I expected and needed.

These are wickedly strong screws I used in 2x4 studs. There is a turnbuckle at the other end of this wire, with a LOT of tension on the 3/32" wire. I tested it by putting my full body weight on the wire (170 pounds) and no problem for this screw. The edges of the threads have sharp "teeth" on them....very impressive. BUT, especially when in awkward positions, it is near impossible to drive them in without a pilot hole or hammering them in a little, and trust me, you don't want to use your fingers to hold it steady with the drill spinning it around for way too long for these short ones.

I ordered these to attach my 5" heavy duty casters to my 6' long wooden workbench with is probably + 250#. They worked great and since the thread is more aggressive than any other screws I could find it allowed me to use a 1/4" instead of the larger 5/16" lags. I will be using these for every project where I need a heavy duty lag screw.

Star drive screws are the bomb. Will never buy any other kind of screw until they design better ones. They don't cam out. Rarely have to predrill unless small wood involved.
