I got this for my son. He went to Costa Rica for 2 weeks and used this while he was hiking! It held a charge the entire time! Definitely recommend!

I'm really liking the solar powered battery backups that are coming out lately. It is nice to have the option to recharge a battery backup without needing to find an outlet every time. This battery backup recharges to in about 4 hours from near the bottom if plugged into an outlet and twice as long if using the solar charging alone.The battery backup is built for outdoor use with thick side walls just is case it gets dropped. It has a built in flashlight and the USB charging ports are covered with a silicone protective flap. There is a compass on the bottom side but honestly that is more for show than anything. There is a carry loop to use with the included carabiner for clipping on to gear. Its overall size is around twice a thick as a cellphone and a bit wider.I like carrying these charger in my backpack while going to the coffee shops when my phone needs charging or my headphones are dead. The 10000mah battery is enough to charge my phone two times if the phone was completely dead. If using this on camping trips probably the best way to use it would be charge the item overnight then set it out all day to rebuild the battery and hope for sun. It takes the whole day if the battery unit in at the bottom.It is a good item to have around for all the just-in-cases and for planned outings where electricity is in short supply. Definitely not a bad item to have in a car as well. This is the exact battery size I wanted and the solar charging ability just makes it that much better. 5 stars.

[Battery] I tested the battery, using a USB tester & a 4-watt, 5-volt light, .7-amp light. The results of the 2nd run (with solar covered) were: 24.66 Wh, 4956 mAh, 7h:11m runtime.For reference, typically a "good" power bank gets 64% of the rated mAh, and I have several power-banks which get that, whereas this one is 49.5%. In other words, this is roughly a (1/.64)*4956 = 7743mah equivalent.Charging my cell-phone I was able to get 5v 2.65 amps, when the power-bank was full. My cell phone doesn't charge any faster, so it's possible this is capable of more.[Solar] The solar does work, however I haven't tried testing the charge speed yet, since it's very cloudy recently. Placing the empty battery directly under a bright-light for 30 minutes, I do get some charge, though I didn't want to run a nearly-empty battery. If I can test this later, I'll update the review.If you used this to power a fan on a sunny day, you might get some extra charge, or had this sitting in your car's dash, you might have a fully charged battery in case of an emergency.[Light] The light is about (estimated) 600 lumen, so bright enough to be useful, but I have lots of brighter flashlights to use.[Summary] For $20, this product definitely seems worth it. Unless someone has run an identical test on another "10000mah battery"

This power bank is great. It charges my phone very fast. I love that it can charge with solar panels. The flashlight also makes it a really great multi-purpose tool.
