Purchased two of these hold-down clamps for woodworking jigs that I use. The build quality and operation are top notch. When I purchased them, they were only $6 apiece - an amazing price for such a functional clamp. My only minor complaint is the somewhat narrow range of clamping distance. The threaded hold-down has about 1.25" of vertical and horizontal range, so you need to think ahead before attaching it to any apparatus you are using since the positioning needs to be accurate from the start. But I normally do this anyway, so it's not much of an issue.

minor assembly required, but not a big deal with that. These are very well made. They worked flawlessly. Held down 1 1/2 inch thick 2x 12x 4ft deck stair treads. I was able to use my big router on these treads and they never budged. Easy to clamp down and easy to release. I would recommend these for any hold-down clamping situation. By the way, the nuts require a #13 metric wrench.

Sturdy. Not a thing wrong with the build, design or usability. A great safety aid that I recommend. But, in my particular situation I wish the threaded bolt was longer so that I could hold down pieces that are thinner than what I have this mounted to. I have it mounted on a 3/4 inch piece of plywood that is guide to cut small 1/2 inch thick pieces of wood on a sled on my table saw. I have to place a small piece of 1/4 inch wood on top of the 1/2 inch piece to hold it firmly. Eventually I replaced the bolt with a longer carriage bolt with a rubber chair leg tip glued on the end. Works great.

These are nice heavy duty toggle clamps. I was worried that they would be smaller than the picture and not substantial enough to use with my shaper. They are good heavy duty clamps. They work well and make great additions to the fixtures I make for my shaper and table saw.

I ordered these recently to help with my wood working projects. I use my Kreg Jig Jr a lot for making pocket holes and finding a good way to clamp both the wood and jig have always been a slight issue with not having spent the money on the Kreg brand clamp. For $8 this little clamp it completely worth it. I mounted the clamp to a piece of scrap 2x4 I had then I mounted the 2x4 to my wooden work table using standard deck screws. I mounted the clamp to the piece of 2x4 to give it more height. After doing so with the bolt screwed all the way in it can easily secure a 2x4 (laying on 4" side) and the Kreg Jig in it's proper position. Allowing for straight and clean pocket holes. Only draw back to having mounted it on the 2x4 block (which I had to do to clamp a 2x4 and the Kreg Jig) is that the bolt will only screw down far enough to secure the Kreg Jig on 5/4" deck board. I plan to order another clamp and only mount it to a piece of 5/4" then to my work table next to the other clamp. That way I will have a quick and reliable way to clamp my material and Jig regardless of the material size and for only $8 it will not break the bank having to order a second one.

Poor quality. Easily get loose. Don’t hold the work pieces secure. Wouldn’t buy again.

this is an excellent device. great for the money. The nuts make them fidgety and time consuming to use when making tapered pieces on a table saw (i bought two of these for making traditional okinawan nunchaku). the adjustment could be easier with a wing nut on top and they ought to provide this since its easy, but you should plan on getting a wing nut to replace the top nut. A great bang for the buck. I'll probably get more just to have on hand since they are so powerful and useful.

I am a retired cabinetmaker and I am always building jigs for woodworking. These clamps worked perfect on a taper jig I built. They are heavy duty and your work piece will not move once you lock them down. You can pay a lot more for these clamps but the quality and the hold down strength of the Powertec is perfect......great products.....highly recommend them!
