Easily mounted, but a very tight box.Mounting to masonary may require a backing spacer/shim due to uneven brick blocking the gap (see photo) required to reassemble the box for closure.Standard stranded #6 AWG copper is very stiff, but fits with knuckle-busting effort for closure. A better wiring choice might be to use flexible #6 copper as used for heavy-duty extension cords. The built-in grounding strap uses such flexible cable. The LED indicator is a nice idea, but impractical. In service, it's less visible flipped up atop the extension cord plug. It indiscriminately indicates power flowing in the receptical curcuit. Other indicators at the generator, itself, are obvious. In my mind, the LED serves better as a warning for the wrong breaker being enabled or a serious wiring problem when the lid is closed. It should never be lit if no generator is attached. A properly installed interlock should prevent that. As that warning, maybe it should have been red?

Very easy to install, it saves time since it comes pre drilled and package has everything you need to mount it. Very durable, we have installed hundreds of this same item and never had a warranty issue. Highly recommended if you are an electrician or a homeowner, will work with 50amp cord and generator, if you have a 30amp cord then you will need the adaptor

I did a DIY install for my generator inlet box. I was confident enough to do this project. the price was very good and well built. big enough to get 6 gage wire bend and twist inside to work. Its installed outside but made the EMT fitting water tight. A plus was the light that's shows when power is live.

All required electrical parts were supplied and seem to be of decent quality. I also have their L5-30 box assembly, which led me to purchase this unit. I would purchase again.

What can I say -- buying cheapo electrical fixtures is a good way to burn your house down, but this isn't some cheapo crapbox, this is actually a really nice, solid, large, ETL-listed box! Most Americans know about UL listing, but there are many other nationally recognized testing labs, and ETL is one of them. It means if you install it properly and it's not defective, it won't burn your house down. Can't say that for a lot of things that are sold online, especially when looking at things like solar disconnects, there's some real firetrap crap out there, but this is a very nice box. It's plenty spacious; wrangling 6ga wires in one of those little undersized boxes can be a real problem, but this one provides enough space for the wires to bend properly and not be cramped. The cutouts are very nice, they're not knockouts and they're especially not the fake knockouts some cheap stuff comes with, they're actually pre-drilled holes that will easily accept a 3/4" conduit. It's a good box, it's an incredible box for the price. Is it the perfect box? Of course not, I mean, ideally the inlet would be on the bottom so that the cable snugs up into a weather-protected area. And if your cable doesn't have a locking ring on it, the connection may not be as firm as you'd want, but if your cable does have that locking ring on it and threads onto the box, it's a great tight connection.

This was used as part of a generator installation. It looks very industrial and heavy duty, like it should for an electrical installation. Works great.

We used this for a temporary connection for a well pump. I chose this one over others because of the pre-drilled holes, slightly larger, and lower price. Very straight forward install and the plug worked well with the generator whip.
