During a recent storm we were without power for 3 days. After the 1st day I connected my generator to the whole house, which involved rewiring the central AC unit. Used this inlet box so now it is only a matter of flipping a few breakers and plugging in my generator. 5 minutes now instead of 20.

You know, I had no idea at first if I might not like these, but since I am a BSEE, I went ahead and ordered them. They are all that and then some..... I like them better then the old way of doing it.

This generator hook up box worked good for my needs.

The metric entry ports caught me off guard. Too large for STANDARD 1/2 npt fittings too small for 3/4.Had to buy a Pipe tap set to enlarge port to 3/4 npt and then use a reducing bushing to make connection.otherwise good but I wish it had a provision for a padlock also.

Installed inlet for the first time and the screw that holds the wire inside the plug would not tighten. It kept turning. This project took a lot of prep work and now I'm passed my window to return or exchange.
