This product works! What more can I say? My Trope went from being pretty much fused to sliding smoothly. The only thing I would say is be careful about getting it on your trumpet finish. It is an absolute pain to get off, but other than that, it’s a great product.

As a band teacher, I get to spend the last days of school greasing tuning slides on a ton of brass instruments before putting them in storage for the summer. The gel grease works great for almost every tuning slide I encounter. You don't get it all over your hands to apply, it's a bit thinner than the tubs of grease, and it gives a smooth slide.There are two slides I won't use it on. I use a thinner tuning slide oil for the 3rd valve slide on my trumpet so I can move it quickly for intonation (as all players should be able to do!). I also can't use this gel grease on my main slide on the trumpet I use at school because, as it's worn over the years, the slide has just a bit too much tolerance, and the gel grease lets it slide out when I put it vertically on the trumpet stand.Good size bottle that should last for a few years of "normal" use, or 2 rounds of greasing a fleet of brass instruments for summer storage.

It's been a while since I used a slide grease that didn't come in a chapstick stick or tin. I was a little nervous that this was going to be way too thin just based on the bottle design. And yes maybe it's not as waxy as the chapstick style grease, but it comes out of the bottle easily and is definitely thick enough to get the job done well. Should last a good long while too.
