This was exactly what I was looking for! I have an accident-prone 9 yo learning the flute. Once my son received the rental from school, all I could see was him slamming himself and the flute against the wall, and those flimsy clasps coming undone.So, here’s the thing. It fits. I got it zipped. But it was TIGHT going around the case. I’m not sure my kid will be able to do this.My plan is the wet the canvas a bit and then zip it around the flute case + maybe something else to add some bulk. Hoping it stretches like wet jeans?I cannot promise to come back with a report, and I get annoyed at reviews saying, “I’ll come back,†but they never do.

Shoulder strap not sent.I will change my review to 5 stars if a shoulder strap is mailed to me because everything else about this case is great.

I really wanted to like this flute case. It's so cute.... However, the chemical smell is horrible. I've tried airing it outside for days, sprayed it with febreeze, tried putting cedar blocks it in, and it still smells horrible. I just realized that I missed the return window. Oh well. It will not be used.
