This product adds to the necklace that we purchased for our boys and ourselves and the kids love the way they add some customization to their necklace.The pendant is made of rubber, so if there is a necklace you would like to use that may be slightly thicker, it has some give, but not too much give where the rubber is cheap and may break, just be mindful that forcing something that isn't made to fit where it goes, may harm the integrity of the pendant. It also holds on the necklace where we want it to be, so it is not sliding back and forth like a pendant on a piece of jewelry.With normal use, this pendant will last a very long time, and currently, reasonable sunlight exposure has no affect on the integrity of it. Like anything, I would not recommend leaving it out on an outdoor table exposed to the elements for an extended period of time as that would be irresponsible use and likely would harm it.

We got this for my baseball player son in his number 5. He has rocked it on his sports braided necklace for months without taking it off. It’s held up to swimming & showers no problem. It was easy to get on over the clasp of his necklace. Highly recommend.
