Working good!I used this pressure switch to replace the pressure switch on my submersible well system.I used to work for a national hardware store company and during my time there I must have sold thousands of well pressure switches, and I have never seen a heavy duty pressure switch until I found this one.I had ordered a standard duty pressure switch off of Amazon before I found this heavy duty one. This heavy duty one got delivered quick, long before the standard one arrived !!! I am going to keep the standard one as a backup just in case of an emergency or maybe I will just give it to someone else.I had went to one of the local big box hardware stores near me, not the company that I used to work for, and without naming any names let's just say their name starts with an A and ends with an e, and believe it or not they did NOT even carry any pressure switches ! I even ask them and also had them to check and make sure, I was shocked that they didn't carry them.I haven't had any trouble with this heavy duty pressure switch. It was easy to install, it replaced my older brand name pressure switch without any problems. I really liked the lug connections on this heavy duty pressure switch instead of the screw type terminals like on my older standard pressure switches that this switch replaced.I would buy this pressure switch again, and when I have to replace my pressure switch again I will buy this one again.

Watched a youtube and seemed very comfortable doing this job. I've done electrical/ plumbing jobs before so this seemed no sweat to me. Here's what I did:- First thing is make sure all the screws underneath against the gasket are nice and tight. I had some semi lose ones and so did others in comments.- Take a picture of the current wire config for reference- Verify 240v with multimeter, then turn off the breaker and then confirm no power- turn off house water and drain from sink, also drain the pressure tank into a 5 gal bucket- Un screw black and white and ground wires and remove from grommet holes- Use a pipe wrench to prevent turning on the down pipe and then unscrew switch with crescent wrench- clean up threads of the down pipe, apply teflon tape & then pipe dope to thread.- Screw on switch carefully to avoid crossthreading. Screw on just till hand tight and then for me was just one more revolution with crescent wrench until faced where I wanted it - wipe off excess pipe dope- Check the empty air pressure of the pressure tank with a tire gauge and confirm its 2 psi below the cut in - for me it was 38 psi- reattach wires per reference picture - I used the existing wire clamps already on my wires and just removed the rubber grommets from this switch.- turn on breaker and watch pressure gauge as the tank starts to build pressure; watch for leaks. Should cut off at 60 psi. Gauges aren't exactly perfect so for me it varied between 59 and 61 psi.- turn on house waterAll in all, straight forward job -took about 30 minutes start to finish

I replaced the pressure switch, the tank float, and the pressure gauge. I wanted a good quality heavy duty switch. I figured merril was at least an American name. So I ordered it. The HD switch had easy connections and thicker contacts. I thought that would be better than the one I had. Boy, was I right! It was easy to wire up and solidly made. Very happy with this switch.

as long as it lasts longer than the cheapo ones from big box stores who cares where its made, worth the money just kinda wish it was made here as the advertisement stated it was founded by an american in 1949,but I guess its 2025 cant set the bar too high what really isnt foreign made now...just a shame...

Wasn't happy about "made in China", but this IS a well built pressure switch. The 40 psig setting was off by 2 psig, compared with a calibrated gauge from work (power industry), but that was easily adjusted and works 100% accurately now. Considering how long this is expected to be in use, the price is more than fair to me. I also decided to give the diaphragm tightening screws the tiniest bit of additional torque as well. It's the A.D.D. in me.

Appears to be very well made. This unit has both switch on / switch off pressure adjustments, base settings are fine but sometimes I will fine tune the pressures for particular applications. I only gave it 4 Stars for installation as these are by nature not "easy" to install. MUST HAVE BACKUPS !!!
