If you have a Prier hose bib on your home or business you will rarely if ever need to replace it. Like anything that withstands pressure , gasketss and washers need to be maintained.Many times if expirencing drips or leaks around the handle, a simple tightening of this graphite packing will buy you a number of more years of carefree service. If the graphite seal still leaks after tightening the packing gland, a simple replacement is required. This is the OEM replacement graphite packing for the stem.Much better quality than the knock offs or “universal fit†products out there. I had two graphite packings fail on my hose bibs during a city over pressure event. One needed a simple retightening and the other I replaced the graphite packing and washer. All this wash done in a few minutes after watching a very good YouTube video.No drips, no fuss , no more problems.

I have an older (1960's) model Prier Hydrant that developed a bad leak. It was sweated in and I was not comfortable replacing the entire hydrant. This kit fit perfectly and stopped the leak. Worth every penny.

Replacing the packing from my badly leaking Prier faucet was easy once I figured out that I needed to use brute force and a hammer to remove the corroded handle. Thinking of it, I should have bought a complete rebuild kit because every replacement part for that was a cheap faucet to start with, is expensive. Based on the Prier website, the corroded handle is not an unusual problem. It made replacing the packing a lot harder but the leak is fixed. By the way the washer included with the packing was useless, I could not remove the original one to replace it.I hope that this review helps someone who like me can not figure out how to remove the faucet handle.
