I easily installed the hot and cold sides for our 42 year old Kohler tub faucet in under a half hour. Perfect fit. The dripping immediately stopped. Great fix for the money. Should have bought these weeks ago.

My old bathtub’s “hot†faucet handle wouldn’t turn off completely anymore. We’ve dealt with an annoying drip for the longest time because no hardware stores carried the parts to fix it. I thought to check Amazon for it the other day, and there it was! I had no idea what the part # was, but the pictures matched what I needed. The new part is now installed, and no leak!

Here is a perfect example of cheaply made products that are designed to fail so you have to buy more. The outer cartridge is brass and the stem is plated chrome.. As it should be... but the inner cartridge is cheap plastic. And I mean cheap. I have bought several and they all failed after applying little pressure to close the faucet. When you take it apart it is the plates that failed. Unfortunately the original version made for Kohler sinks and faucets, which was all brass, has been discontinued. Some things can and should be make in America. This is not. Hope this Helps!

This review is for the Danco 15554E 6N-2C STEM FOR KOHLER LL FAUCET. Disappointed that this cold water stem is not a close replacement for the original or later model replacements from Kohler. I did buy a hot side version of this same model and it was a little better, but still not great. My original Kohler stems worked perfectly for over 20 years. As Kohler stems at that time included the housing, the price was over $40 each, so I gave the Danco replacement a try. That first Danco lasted almost 8 years, and worked quite well. The second, purchased several months ago, does not work well. It is difficult to get both fully sealed and working at the same time, and the "off" position is very spongy and self adjusts regularly. I just bought a genuine Kohler hot side to replace the older Danco, and happily it seats and seals easily, adjusts precisely, and has a solid feel when reaching the "off" position. For the 4$ price difference compared to the Danco now that the Kohler stems can be purchased without the housing, I will stick with those going forward.
