  • MADE TO MOVE PAINT—Catalyst brushes are designed for use with medium to heavy-bodied acrylics and oil paints. They can even push heavy gel mediums with assurance.

Product Description

Catalyst professional art brushes are yet another breakthrough that advances the science of synthetic hair. The fine craftsmen at Princeton created a new series of brushes that offer the stiffness and responsiveness you need, even in water. Catalyst brushes have real integrity in water, unlike natural hog bristles, which can be rendered useless when water-soaked. The true advance in these painting brushes is the Polytip bristles. For the first time, the tip of each individual hair has been split to replicate the natural flags found on the finest natural bristle. By giving each individual hair two to three distinct tips, Catalyst is able to hold a higher volume of paint while providing amazing detail and a smoother application. Designed for use with medium to heavy-bodied acrylic and oil paints, Catalyst paint brushes even push heavy gel media. Catalyst Polytip Bristle brushes truly are tools that move paint.

The Princeton Catalyst brush works on every foundation I’ve used it on, including smooth, medium, and rough stretched canvas, canvas boards, hardboard and so on. It holds a good amount of paint whether oil, water based oil, and both heavy and medium body acrylic. It is not difficult to clean. I would call the brush medium firm in paint application after using it for a few weeks. I washed out the brush before using it with Master Brush Cleaner, available here on Amazon, and let it dry overnight before using it. I clean it the same way after finishing each painting session. I have decided to buy more of this brand of artist brushes. If only someone would make a brush that guided your mind while you were painting. Oh well, this will have to do for now.Highly recommended.AD2

This brush has some spring, holds a lot of paint (I paint in acrylics) and cleans easily, and leaves a 'feathered' look to the end of a stroke if I pull up on the pressure of the brush. Held sideways, I can get a thinner line, or a nice wide stroke when held flat. I prefer a brush that gives has some spring or resistance depending upon the pressure I apply. I love this polytip brush so much, that I ordered some other sizes in both round and flat. I've been looking for a brush like this for years. It's my new favorite!

This Princeton brush won’t disappoint! It performs as well as some of my more expensive brushes. I have used the brushes for several months and it has maintained its point and shows little wear if any. I have several sizes of the brush in which all have met my expectations.

The Brush is Awesome and Worth the price tag - Be Aware Amazon Sent Mine in an unprotected envelope, the bristles have no guard on it so I was lucky the Brush was NOT trashed. AMAZON is getting lazy with their packaging since the virus I have noticed. So just inspect your brush careful when it arrives. I will order more of these brushes as they are awesome.

This is a fairly big brush specifically for acrylic paint. It's stiff enough and springy. I wish I had a whole set.

I love these brushes, they're just the best; firm but flexible, and the hairs stay together. I have personally not had any problems with shedding; but it's like anything, you have to take care of them- don't leave them in water.....Just brilliant, would highly recommend them

Now one of my favourite brushes! I have found that I can use it in a variety of circumstances while painting. Works smoothly and gives you plenty of control no matter what the intention. Will be ordering more from this line in the future.
