Our brick mailbox at our office didn't have red flag. The mail carrier couldn't be bothered to raise the door to see if we had outgoing mail. Told by the post office we HAD to have red flag in order to get mail carrier to take outgoing mail. So this works well to comply with postal regulations. It's all steel, no plastic that will not last long in our strong summer sun. Highly recommend versus other products.

The previous flag on this inherited mailbox was gone. I used some of the holes from the previous flag to install this new one. I had to drill a couple more. Because of the positioning, it's a little on the short side. But it gets the job done. The mail carrier has no problem seeing that the flag us up.And it stays in place even when it's windy with its slotted design. Good value for the price. It's near the ocean so time will tell if rust will be a factor or not.

Added to our brick mailbox that originally had no way to notify the post man we had outgoing mail. Works great and has good tension on it to ensure its open (out) or closed (in).

This is a very well made "flag" to let the letter carrier know that there is outgoing mail in the box. I've had to chase the mail truck down the street a few times lately and hope this will put an end to that activity.

This handy flag is very useful in situations where you don’t have room for a flag to the side of your mailbox. I installed it onto my mailbox door by drilling two small holes into the door. It works. However…The red metal flag does not grip or snap shut. So whenever I open my mailbox door, the red flag flies open. It’s not a huge problem, just an annoyance. I simply have to shut the flag again after lifting the mailbox door back up. The other problem is that the flag screw at the hinge immediately started rusting soon after the very first rain. Come on, really?

Easy to install. Worked perfectly for my mailbox. I like that it is metal and believe it will withstand the weather better than plastic. Product arrived quickly and was just as described.
