In musical instrument terms, a xylophone is a wood based or wooden instrument while a glockenspiel is a plastic based instrument. Over time the two terms have been blended together in practical understanding. We have used both words so as not to miss out any customers searching for one or the other, but this product on this page is officially a xylophone.
This is an ideal 27 note / 27 key / 27 bar xylophone for display, learning or practical use. We have found that some of our happiest customers have been grandparents buying this as an educational gift for anyone from a baby, toddler, kid, classroom, school, nursery or child to a teenager or adult.

2 Wooden Beaters / Mallets
Includes a set of 2 well designed mallets / beaters / sticks which are the correct material and weight blend for the keys / notes on this particular xylophone.
Keys or notes are the metal pieces on top of the frame of a xylophone / glockenspiel.
The 25 note / 27 note / 30 note and 32 note xylophones are quite similar except for a few notes different on each.
The more notes, the more options however we have found that the 25 note is the most favoured mixture of affordability, size, note variance and sound variance.

We've had this xylophone for over a year now, and it's been a hit in our home! My husband, being a musician, often uses it to tune our daughter's ukulele and jam out together. It's been a fun addition to our musical family! The sound quality is better than other similar products we have tried.

I love this thing. It's good quality, all the notes are correct and it's just a great addition to my kid's music box. Our family has been having lots of fun with this. I have 4 kids and they all love it, even my 12 year old daughter! My other kids are all boys, 16 months, 5 and 8 years old. such fun. Great product!

Sometimes with these sorts of instruments, some keys work and others don’t. In this item, all the parts were perfect upon arrival and resonate beautifully.

This xylophone has a pretty decent pitch for a toy. However it's made very cheaply with plastic not METAL pins and it's definitely a toy suitable for children between the ages of 3-8. As such the price should be in the range of $20-30 but definitely not $55. The paint on the bars is not well done and it's coming off.Also there are no songs included unlike similar products that are being sold on Amazon for about 12 to $15. It's just a small xylophone toy with two mallets. ( This review was written by a professional piano teacher).
