This works good on my recliner but I can't use the screw because there's no screw hole on my recliner. The plastic keeps wearing out, eventually rounding out the hole so I have to keep buying new handles. Why can't they put in a metal insert where the hole for the mechanism bar goes? This would make it last much longer.

Comparing this handle to the original is like comparing a hang-glider to a Boeing 747. This handle is all plastic junk, no metal insert to fit around the shaft. I have no idea what the 1/8th inch hole was supposed to be for, the original had a metal insert with a metal set screw. The 1/2 " square hole on the 1/2" square shaft had so much play I had to drill a hole completely through the shaft, and run a screw all the way through to even get it to work. Am I using it, yes; do I like it, no; will I replace it, ASAP. 50 miles from my home is a Lz A Boy store, I should have gone there, what I get for shopping on line. Should I have sent it back, probably. I'm guessing the favorable reviews I read before ordering were hired responders. Amazon should stop selling this product, unless it is improved.

Very cheap plastic. Do not like it and it did not include the screw to attach the handle to the chair mechanism.

I would have been very happy with the product. unfortunately I measured wrong and I should have ordered the 5/8" instead of the 1/2" handle. My bad.
