This is a great case for an oboe. My oboe came with a tiny "french" style case that seemed like it crowded the instrument too much. I replaced it with this one which is a little larger and has more space between the pieces. I am storing a Fox model 300 full conservatory oboe in this case, and there are no issues with any of the keywork not fitting. The built in pocket on the outside has some internal zip pockets for small items like cork grease, extra reeds, etc. The other subtle advantage of the external pocket is you always know which way is "up" on the case and you never open it upside down accidentally to tumbling instrument parts falling on the floor. (been there, done that)The only con I have with the case is there are two ribbons that keep the case from falling completely open when it is opened. They almost don't let it open enough to allow the weight of the lid to keep the unit open, so I sometimes fight the lid falling down while I am trying to assemble the oboe. I might remove the ribbons and see if that works better for me.

I bought this case to replace a musty smelling case from an oboe that was given to me. The oboe is from the 1970s and it fits perfectly in the case. The case is compact, but the storage pocket has room for pencils, a reed case, and metronome. It also came with a luggage tag to hold contact information and a comfortable shoulder strap. I will definitely look at Protec products the next time I need storage options for musical instruments. They are half the price of cases from traditional manufacturers and offer the same, if not more, protection for the instrument.

Got it as an Amazon return for cheaper than regular price. Why anyone would return it is beyond me, as this is absolutely fantastic for my middle school student. Our other oboe case fell apart in the daily rigors of middle school life. This one is absolutely amazing! Lightweight, rugged, and cushioning for the delicate instrument it houses.

Great case except that the elastic strap that holds the top to the case bottom is too short which makes it impossible to open the case without actually holding it open by hand. The side storage pouch is very large and holds all my stuff.

I've been using one of these for a couple of years. It works with my Loree, Fox and Hiniker oboes. Very sturdy. I'm buying a second one because the first is being sold with one of my Loree oboes. The front pocket has room for a double compartment zippered tool case, several 10-reed reed cases, and a reed soaker. The inside cutout, which is normally used for a standard reed case will also accommodate the somewhat larger Weiseman wooden 3-reed case, which I prefer. I don't use the cases that the oboes come in, except for storage at home. Whichever one I'm currently playing, and carrying around, goes in the Protec case.

I purchased the oboe case from Music 123. After submitting the order I was notified it was back ordered. 3 weeks later it arrived. The compartments in the case are too small for the intermdiate level Fox oboe. They are not even close. Returning the case to Music 123 proved difficult due their poor customer service - 3 phone calls to process the return - 40 minutes wait time.

Bought an older Oboe in excellent condition (after having it thoroughly checked out), ordered a set of custom reeds, then decided a new case would be beneficial. All of this for my daughter that wanted to play (has been taking flute, piccolo, sax, etc for years).I don't think she ever opened the case after the first lesson.Anybody want to but a nice wooden Oboe? Has a very nice case...

My old case was very beat up and I needed a replacement. This case is the perfect size with ample storage for accessories. It is neat and tidy and well made. It’s a quality case at a perfect price point.
