This is the best one by far. Most comfortable of the handful I’ve tried and the removable pads are key for customizing it for using it under my hockey pants. They also give you two tailbone pads to choose from!

I ordered this for snowboarding.I just received and tried this one, it is way better quality than my others I tried, so comfortable and hip protector is thicker the other brands I have.It really protects my hip and legs, I quess it reduces about 50% of impact. My waist is 32 so I bought L size and fit great, easy to wear and move.It is about $20 more expensive then others in amazon, but coupon was offered when I ordered for discount, it is worth to pay little bit.I will buy another one for my wife now

A little bit bulky, but that's to be expected with padded shorts! I found that these run slightly large. The padding is firm and is going to be perfect for wearing under ski pants.

These pants literally saved my lower back when I was out snowboarding! The pants are basically an additional cushion layer to your underwear, adding some much needed padding to your lower back and butt. It sits comfortably either with or without your underwear and it did not move while I was out and about on the slopes. I felt a couple times and i didn't even felt a single bit of soreness afterwards. The pants does have some stretchy area that should fit most people, it was true to size for me, I wear size 30 pants and medium fits me perfectly. Overall if you are thinking about skiing or snowboarding, this is a must have for saving your back from falling!

These are comfortable compression bike shorts with good padding - especially on the butt. The butt pad has three different pad options that can be combined, resulting in 8 different combinations including no pads. The two black pads are different thicknesses - the thinner on is about 0.25" and the thicker one is about 0.5" thick. The orange pad is considerably tougher than the black pads but is not hard plastic. It is still flexible, like a very compressed foam. The shorts fit true-to-size, and I was able to put these on under my regular shorts.Yes, I recommend these. I like the multiple butt pad options a lot.

These padded shorts have a lot of pads (11), and provide great protection in all the major points. They work well, fit well, and are comfortable. I order mine in my usual size and they fit fine, they stay in place but aren't so tight they bind anywhere. You have a choice of pads for the tailbone, and these provide the best tailbone protection out of all my padded gear. These are washable if you remove the pads, but I wear them over a thin undergarment, and haven't actually needed to wash them yet. I ordered these to supplement my armor in my riding pants when I go dirt riding. The extra padding comes in handy when you are around 70 years old and you fall down, and these definitely help on falls. I am sure they would work just as well on snow as they do on large rocks and hard ground.

These shorts run small/snug. They fit my 12 yo fine in the seat and length, but the waist is so slim, it was uncomfortable. If you have a thicker waist you may want to size up one size. These shorts are well made. The seams are sewn securely. The pads are thick and tough feeling. I washed and hang dried with no issues.

What impressed me about these is the heavy coccyx/butt protection- helping in one of the most painful falls on skates. The material stretch was reasonable and size Large fit both myself (a 170# 6' male) and my female friend (145#), but the weight of the spandex could be a bit higher especially for the price (more below).I've bought and used quite a few designs of this type of protective shorts and these compare well in protection and fit, I suspect though that after pad removal and replacement for washing that the fabric will not hold up as well as some made of heavier stretch fabric. Finally the PRICE is unfortunately high- at ~$80 USD almost double that of some other brands I've used. They are good- but a lower price point would be more reasonable for what they offer.
