Bought this for my wife because she always said that her tea would get cold. After a couple of weeks of use, she is thrilled with this mug warmer. The variable temperature control is a great option and is easy to use. She found that the medium setting (150F) worked the best for her and it maintained the tea at the perfect drinking temperature for hours. The auto-shut off is another great feature so that you never have to worry about leaving it on, although it would be nice if there was a way to change the default auto-shut off time.Others have stated that you need the right type of mug with a flat-bottom but she has used this with several different ceramic mugs, all with NON-flat bottoms and it performed as expected, keeping the drink at a nice temperate without making the mug/handle hot. The surface of the unit is also easy to clean in case you accidentally spill a little.

I got this to replace one I had at work that just stopped heating. I’ve had this for two days and it works great! All the ones I had in the past needed me to put a silicon top on the cup to keep it heated through. Not with this! My coffee is hot right to the top without any cover! In fact it was too hot, lol, but this gives you 3 temps! I just lowered mine to the mid level. I love you have options all the way to 12 hours for auto shut off. This works so well I’m going to get one for my apartment since we aren’t allowed to light candles. I may get two and put one in the room with my cats litter box!

I love the size of the heating area. My other warmer still worked but was too small for all my coffee mugs. This warmer is plenty big. Temps are preset to 176,150, and 130. The 176 setting will heat up a cold cup of coffee and130 keeps a cup of fresh brew at just the right temp.

Amended review:I just, tonight, discovered that the problem with this pad not heating is not due to the pad, but is the result of a faulty, rather expensive surge protector. Initially, that plug in socket failed, then I noticed that another, less used, device was also down.I plugged the warming pad into another socket and it is working again. So, with the exception of the fading paint comment, below, I retract and rescind all of my previous commentary in my initial review. I have my warmer on, now, and it's working fine.I also want to note that the seller immediately offered me the options of either a refund or a replacement - this after 3 months of use - so I am very impressed.I regret my earlier review, as this product is now working as well as ever keeping my coffee warm. Considering that another device was faulty; that my error was not adequately checking the product on another circuit; and the seller's immediate response for a remedy, I would definitely purchase this again.I regret my error and hope this review amendment helps potential customers in their decisions. I changed the title, but left most of the original review up as an example for others to be more careful than I was about identifying fault in a product.PREVIOUS REVIEW - MY BAD!I received and started using this toward the end of December. It is now mid-March. Sitting beside me at the dining table, it was gently used almost daily. The paint on the power button was already prematurely wearing off, something which I had noted in reviews.Today, I tried to turn it on as usual, to keep my coffee heated. It didn't come on. I checked the plug, but it was fully connected. It was ... just dead!So, if you are okay with buying this product and having it last only a few months, then go for it. I take as much care as possible to avoid such wretched sustainability standards, but I botched it on this one!I hope you don't make the same mistake that I did, ignoring reviews and thinking I'd be one of the lucky ones!NOTE: IT WASN'T THE WARMER! Absolutely hands down one of the best purchases. I’ve had it about two weeks and i use it everyday. If you like hot beverages and are tired of using the microwave to heat them up this is a game changer! Imagine coming back to your bev hours later and its still steaming! Such joy. Be aware that as you drink and the volume of liquid changes your bev can become extremely hot as it nears its end and sits on the warmer for longer periods. Overtime if you are drinking coffee with creamer, the creamer tends to congeal and form a skin on top but who cares! Love this product.

Hubby uses this to keep his drinks warm while watching TV or reading. He really likes this a lot more than other warmer plates he has used. He says it is the best one he has used.
