I was looking for a more simple tool to tap 3mm threads. I found this one to meet the cost and versatility. The ratchet is OK but does seem to be over kill for the smaller threads. Works great for larger threads and make it easier. It's seem well made and for what I need it will fit the bill.

I’ve tapped a lot of threads over the years and this thing is by far..The literal Worst tapping handle kit I’ve ever seen. It was so bad I just started the tap with a hand drill and then squared up the bit and used some locking pliers as my handle instead of this thing.

This tap kit is good for the money, if you only need to use it occasionally. The taps seem sturdy and accurate. But the tap holder does not hold the taps straight. They are off enough that tapping a hole perfectly is challenging. I needed it to re-tread some existing holes, so it worked fine for my project because I was following exiting mangled threads. But fresh holes in dense metal would be tough.

This tap worked great for me, and I had no issues with it. You do need to make sure that the bit is tightly secured before starting your tap, but that's common sense (to me, anyway). I had zero issues with it, and it did exactly what I wanted and expected it to do. I don't normally have a need to tap things, so when my need arose I looked for something inexpensive. This item was a whole kit and it delivered a job well done. No regrets at all.

Large set of taps and dies lost, and needed to renew threads in cheap metal. Worked perfectly for that purpose, but doubt they would go very far if had to tap threads in stainless steel. Clearly not highest quality.
