They seem to function well with one complaint. Because they were covered with oil, and not knowing if it was food grade I cleaned them well, and cut my finger while touching the ball bearings. I found I had to press on each one initially to get them to actually retract and in doing so released some sharp metal filings. I am glad I cleaned it well, don't want to drink those in my beer.

These quick disconnects work perfectly on my brew kettle and bucket. They're better than another brand I've purchased previously on here and in fact I've replaced those connectors with these ones. These connectors are very smooth and slide right on and off as you'd expect. They easily click into place and detach with little force. These are now affixed to my brew kettle and stainless fermentation bucket's spigot. I put the other ones aside for an emergency.The other ones were very hard to connect, to get the spring loaded piece to click into place required a lot of force and I've pinched my fingers a few times. They were also really hard to pull off and I found myself putting a lot of torque on my valve when trying to disconnect them. They took much more force than I was comfortable with given it was holding back 8 gallons of hot wort. I was always worried I was going to loosen the nut and spring a leak mid boil while taking them off. I'm much happier with these on there and have piece of mind now I can easily disconnect my hosing mid-boil without yanking on the spigot.This is an incredible value for $23.99 at the time of writing for two male, two female disconnects and extra o-rings. I've seen a single female quick disconnect going for nearly this price. It's really a great value to get a full set of these for under $25.

I am a Craft Brewer and I usually use the tri-clamp system. But there are some parts of the system that would benefit from this type of quick disconnect (QD) system. I saw these QDs and though I would give them a try. The quality of these QD are right on par with others I have seen in the market.These QD are made of Stainless Steel 304 (SS304) which means they are food-grade. It also means they are unlikely to rust, corrode, tarnish, or discolor. The QDs arrived at my house and I did not notices any scratches, dents, dings, or discolorations. I used them under extreme heat and pressure with notable failures.I do believe that these are higher quality QDs and I recommend them.
