Just know that the loop for this lifting plate is huge! I had to make a custom hook using a 1/4" plate to use it with my engine hoist. I didn't take a photo but a screen grab from my security cam shows you what I was trying to accomplish.I have several 1" steel plates I cut that still weigh 200 lbs or a little more. Lifting them took quite a bit of work outside of safety issues, and I needed to move them across the yard.The mechanism is effortless to operate once you understand how it clamps. It does work pulling horizontally if done carefully, at least with the 200-lb plate. I did not have any of the plates slip once. I could've gone with 1-Ton but the max opening seemed too close to the thickness of this steel so the 2-Ton worked out beautifully.The price is excellent! I should've bought this long ago as I was trying to lift it and then try rolling the plate, but it was getting a bit too risky.

I bought this to pick up a 1†piece of plate steel for a welding table that weighed around 1100 pounds. It did its job perfectly and seems to be very well made. I will be using this frequently to move any plate steel with my crane in the future. Highly recommend
