The longer handle gives allot of leverage's taking 5-gallon buckets lids off with ease without strain. I started out with the plastic short handle lid removal, by me replacing it with this metal long handle lid remover. Someone did me a favor by taking it. It's worth the Exter effort keeping it locked on a heavy chain and kepting lock up in a safe when not in use lol

With a moderate amount of work I was able to get the sealed lid off a 5 gallon bucket of soda sorb. Easy to use, fast delivery.

This is a game changer in the barn! Especially when it cold and plastic is not malleable. I do not have to hurt my fingers anymore! Make work quick and the hammer end has just enough weight to tap the lids back on. It is a sturdy and inventively designed product!

I use this thing to take the top part of “child proof†caps off of bleach, cleaning supplies, pill bottles, etc. I bought a device that was supposed to do that, on Amazon, but the metal is as soft as butter and bends, so it didn’t work (it has a red handle). This thing is really hard metal and works pretty well for my use. I don’t even remember what it’s supposed to be used for Hahahaha!

Without any instructions I proceeded to open a 5 gallon bucket without breaking a sweat or spilling a drop of the $165 fluid.As mentioned in other reviews. Sturdy with a capital S.I can see this tool lasting a lifetime.Ok, I only need it about once a week but darn.. saved so much time.Well worth it.

This tool opened a bucket I was struggling with using screwdrivers, pliers and a hammer for over an hour without success. It opened the bucket in less than 1 minute. Highly recommend.

This thing is a beast , and works amazing on getting lids of of buckets of casting silicone. Those lids are really thick and stiff.

I used it to open cold maple sap pails. It sure saved my fingers from getting hurt.I attached a red lanyard to it so it wouldn't get lost in the snow.

Wanted to use it to open 5 gal pails of post-cat solvent-based lacquer - metal lids. Didn't work. Sill using the screwdriver. It's a tool made of "aluminum" to open plastic 5-gallon pails. Good quality but not what I was looking for.
