This radio has a loud speaker, has FM modulation, and it's impossibly small.I use it on road trips and it picks up signals fine. Before you start driving be sure to study the manual because the auto-squelch feature is quite tricky to adjust while driving. I would have liked a squelch knob instead, but the squelch is a "smart" squelch which is handy in the noisy AM mode.No automatic noise limiting (ANL) but that is a minor omission in such a small and affordable radio. The automatic gain control (AGC) works great and is adjustable.Comes with the power supply cord, which is unusual at this price point. It does have channel scanning. Just hold down the A/F button.Overall, it's a very good CB and if you can find drivers on FM it's even better.

For its size, this CB radio packs a punch. Every time I transmit and ask for a radio check, I get very positive reports of how loud and clear I sound. I typically use this as a base unit for communication with truckers at work; however, it also makes a capable mobile radio. In fact, the tiny size of this radio makes it ideal as a mobile unit in a smaller vehicle; however, the button-driven design for adjusting squelch and RF gain (in conjunction with the microphone’s up/down buttons) makes on-the-road adjustments a little too awkward and distracting for my liking—as opposed to more traditional, slightly larger models that feature rotating knobs for squelch and RF gain adjustments. Also, the included cigarette lighter adapter for the power doesn’t seem to do as well in cancelling engine noise or electrical interference as I would like, making it necessary to hardwire it to the battery or fuse box. Hence my preference of using it as a base station: overall less headache in my opinion. It does well with a variety of antennas. I have used a short, standard magnetic base antenna; a sizable magnetic base whip antenna; and a fiberglass Firestik. However, it seems it did best with the Firestik, with little to no antenna tuning required to get an acceptable SWR. Transmission and reception with the Firestik were also superior.Although the legal FCC power limit for transmitting on a CB is 4 watts, I’m willing to bet that this little beast puts out more power than that. The clarity and volume when transmitting just seem too impressive for a standard 4 watt radio. However, I’ve not actually tested the power output it to confirm this. All told, this is a fantastic little CB for the price. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a small but powerful radio for tight quarters.

I drive a Chevy Spark, a truly sub sub compact. It’s been a wonderful car, but it s very small. Too smal to be able to mount most CB radios. That’s where the CB27 shines. If you can fit a bigger CB, you probably shouldn’t get this one. The ergonomics are compromised by its size, The push buttons and knob are tiny, and the controls can be hard to use while driving. Eventually you get used to them, but it takes time. There is no weather option. The screen is tiny and can be hard to read. All of those are due to the small size and low price. And I can live with those faults, because the radio fits just about anywhere! Plus it works quite well. It puts out a full 4 watts, its transmissions sound clear, the mic has the controls for changing channels and it works quite well. It s a perfectly good CB.For $50.Which fits in even my tiny car. That makes it a winner in my book!It comes with all of the usual mounting stuff. The manual is simple, but so is the radio. Hardly anyone uses FM here in the states, but it’s nice to have if you are traveling with other people who also have an FM capable CB, as the signal is much clearer over short range.I gave the CB27 four stars because I really wish it had weather band reception, and because the President Bill, another CB about the same size, has it (but at twice the price). And it would be nice if they had used a more typical mic connection, as the CB27s is hard wired. It’s a good mic, but choices are good.

Love the size. Easy setup...fits anywhere. Will be using on my motorcycle as well. So far I like what it can do. I know it's small, but it meets and exceeds my expectations. Drove around the city today, picked up some radio traffic on most channels. Can't wait to try it on the freeway.

To start. Awesome compact radio. Very slim and functional. However, puts out only 2.5-3W of power instead of 4. My SWR on my antenna is as good as I can get it, 1.6 to 2.2 from channel 1 to 40.It's good for simplex communications at close distance, which is why I bout it for the Fram. You won't get the output like you do on the Undien or Galaxys.

Very compact but powerful. It has concealed modifications that can be done to enhance its purpose. I modded mine and am very happy with the results. You can find the information on YouTube.A+++

This radio lead me down a path that caused me to upgrade everything I use for proper CB communications. Everything I had was working perfectly with my older equipment. But I figured with the new radio my stuff may be a little dated. So I got an Antron 99 with proper grounding. Ripped out all old wire as this radio was giving me 1:3 SWR. So I replaced it with heavy duty RG213. And I was getting nearly imperseptable movements. My antenna was very much dialed in. Even put a ten by ten wire mess cloth at its base just to make sure grounding was perfect.I could hear people. But no one could hear me. The radio always had a high static of 7 to 8 on all channels. Again making me think it was my equipment. But a swap out of radio showed clean clear sound and perfect communications.Sorry to say I would not recommend this as a way to save Pennie’s. You really get what you pay for.

At first I was a little skeptical on buying the CB I had a cobra CB in my old car for a couple months but got smashed when I drove into a telephone pole and totaled my car and I was looking to replace it with a better quality cb radio and I have been very pleased with it super easy to hook up and use and got a successful radio check first try

Pros:Size - I have a small car with limited placement options. I can velcro this radio pretty much anywhere due to its size.Microphone. This gets good audio reports.Multinorm. Hold down the A/F button while turning on the radio and you are presented with a number of options. The UK option gives you CB/27 81, CEPT FM and EU AM/FM.Receiver. The squelch on this is very good and the receiver is excellent. It puts my homebase CRT 6900V to shame. The 6900's squelch is very poor and filters out audible signals that the Radioddity quite happily separates from background noise. The audio on the Radioddity is better too, even using the built in speaker.Price. Amazing quality for less than £70.Cons.Fixed microphone. No manual squelch. No mike gain controlNo manual RF controlThese cons are not a deal breaker for me and would probably mean the radio being much larger to accommodate these missing items.
