This comes packaged well and includes a nice case, strap for case, mallets and other accessory items. It is heavy and solid and looks very nice. The sound however is not good on about half of the tongues. They are very flat sounding. It comes with stickers on the tongues plus extras. While testing out the tone, on of the stickers flew off. I put it back on however I was thinking- if the stickers come off, how will someone know what the correct notes are? Based on the sound quality, not worth price and returning. It’s too large, heavy and expensive to be a toy but only sounds good enough to be a toy.Update - seller reached out and seemed sincerely concerned for my satisfaction. They offered full refund. I had already sent the return thru Amazon and received my refund so I let them know it was taken care of. I am impressed with their company’s service so for that, 5 stars.

This is a fun instrument, but it took me a bit to figure out what was going on. I only recognized the title of two of the songs in the book which came with this and when I went to play one of the two, "Happy Birthday," it sure wasn't sounding right. "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" sounded great. I then got the idea to try the songs on the piano and realized that 1) "Happy Birthday" didn't sound right on the piano either, and 2) This steel drum isn't a C instrument!Looking further on the product description page for this steel drum, sure enough, the 11 note steel drum is listed as a D major instrument. Having only played C instruments (when you play what is written as a "C" in music, the note registers as a "C" on a tuner--unlike this instrument that when you play a note written as a "C" in music, the note registers as a "D" on a tuner), this is a bit much to wrap my head around for if I wish to play music other than what is in the included book. Many can easily transpose music. I am not one of those people, this will take some serious thinking on my part. However, as the music in the included book is all also notated with numbers which correspond to the tongues of the steel drum, one is all set for playing those songs.Other than the 11 note steel drum and music book, the set also includes 3 mallets (one is shorter and has a smaller head than the other two), four finger knobs (which fit pretty tightly...I'll be sticking with the 2 matching mallets), a cloth carrying bag for the drum, and many extra numbered stickers.The actual sound of the steel drum is good and the notes measure true on a tuner (once I figured out the whole non-C instrument thing). You get a surprising amount of sound for such a small instrument!

I am not a musical instrument player nor can read music notes. Still, I appreciate simple melodic tunes for its purety. This steel tongue drum elicited great memories of my trips to the Carribean. The steel drums have a unique sound and in the right hands, music is a joy to behold.When I opened the package, I was very happy with the deep green color of the drum. The carrying case is thick and a bonus to protect your drum. You can play with the stick/hammers provided or with your fingers. They even provided covers for your fingers to promote better contact.The instruction book and music book complete the package. I was able to play some of the music by following the numbers posted within minutes. Hitting the steel drum is relaxing even if I am hitting the wrong note.The size is cute to use and easy to store away. I can picture using this on many nights when I just want peace and tranquility. This is also a nice gift - very thoughtful and will be appreciated.5 Stars!
