Although we live in an area that often deals with drought conditions, when it does rain it nice to know how much moisture we get. This rain gauge makes it easy. It’s simple to place it in the ground and, once you do, it’s there to stay. The frame is sturdy metal. It securely holds the tube that collects the rain and it’s heavy enough that it can withstand the elements (especially wind). I like the height of it, too. It’s tall enough that I can easily see it from inside my house.But, the one feature I especially appreciate is the plastic, shatter-resistant tube. It’s well-marked and easy to read and it will also remain intact when we have light freezes. I‘ve found out the hard way, when I forgot to bring my rain gauge inside, that the glass tube sometimes cracks even when the freeze is minimal.Recently this was put to the test when we had nearly a week of below freezing temperatures along with wind and rain. Through it all this rain gauge was a champ and the tube didn’t crack or break. Needless to say, I’m quite pleased with this purchase.

I wanted a plastic rain gauge as my 2 previous glass ones broke. I really like the way it's printed, and the blue painted bar really helps to get a good reading.It does comes with 2 extension poles, but I don't use them. It's very windy where I live and don't want to risk the extra height and I like the way it looks shorter. If you have trouble getting down to read it though, the extra height would be great. It does come with a cleaning brush, but can't say I've ever cleaned one before! I am glad to have this in my garden.

This gauge has several nice features: the strong, clear plastic container is clearly marked and has a bright blue stripe at the back that makes reading the water level easy. The holder has both a ring for hanging and a set of screw-together sections and pair or spikes of heavy metal that allow the user to install it in the ground at any of three heights. The package includes a custom brush for cleaning the tube.This is a simple, yet nicely put together, product that I am sure will be a big help to me this summer as I determine how much water my garden needs.

I received this product through Amazon Vine.I've never had a rain gauge before, so I have nothing to compare this one to. This rain gauge is a nice size, the gauge is easy to read, and it was extremely easy to assemble the stand and put into the ground. This rain gauge definitely functions as it should and the rain tube even stood up to four inches of water turning to ice and not cracking the tube. As far as the price is concerned, I believe this rain gauge is slightly more price wise but overall the pricing is comparable to other similar rain gauges.

It is such a simple design. Plastic rain gauge slips into a wire metal holder. If you prefer to attach it to a fence, there's an option for that. It comes with a brush to clean it out, but knowing I'd lose it anyway, I went ahead and tossed the brush. Easy to see from a distance, easy to empty.

I like the height options this rain gauge comes with. You can make it ground level up to 3 feet. It’s easy to install and read. There’s a gauge cleaning tool that’s also included that will come in handy.

This rain gauge seems that it'll be adequate, but I wonder how long it'll survive since the gauge part is plastic.It's packaged well, and even comes with a sponge-on-a-stick to easily clean it as needed, and it's super-easy to assemble. The sections just screw together, and the gauge drops in place. You can also hang it on a post or something if you'd prefer, but we just stuck it out in our yard where we can see it from the windows.The PROS:Easy on the budget; seems functional enough, and quick to assemble. Can easily remove the gauge to empty and clean it, and it comes with a cleaning sponge.The CONS:The stand isn't quite a sturdy as I'd like, and the little prongs to install it in the ground aren't as long as I'd like; seems like it'll wiggle back and forth in the wind.The gauge is plastic. It'll eventually get sun-damaged, so it's got a limited functional lifespan.Still, it'll work for a while. That's all I need.
