These baking testers are really handy to use in the kitchen. And in your craft room to stir glue and paints and other liquids or tacky substances. You might even use them in science experiments.Sporting a little stainless steel rod, the entry hole into your cake, bread, or whatever you are baking is very small, compared to the thin knife I used to poke into foods. The rod itself is a smidge over 4 1/2 inches long. So you can prick a pretty deep cake or bread with it. And the plastic handle is about 1 1/2 inches long, and has small indentations on either side making it easier to hold on to when using it.The part I like best is the cover that sheaths the testing rod. Pretty great so the rod doesn't get bent in my utensil drawer.Oh, I guess the second best thing I like about this testing set, is it comes in a four pack; several to keep, and several to share with friends and family.Actually, these would make a pretty sweet party favor gifts, or holiday gifts for your favorite baker.

Works as they should. Alot easier then using tooth picks with no waste. U get 4 tester which makes this a great value for your money.

I wish I had known about these sooner! I have wasted so many toothpicks over the years and these are SOOOO much better because they are thinner! I keep them in the drawer next to my oven where I keep the potholders so they are within easy reach. They are so handy to test cakes, cupcakes, etc. And I don't have to throw them away afterward!

I really like that these have a case to hold them in. With four of them, I kept one and given the rest to my three daughters. They make great gifts to bakers in your life.

My wife bakes a particular cake that is modified from a box mix. As a result, when she multiplies the recipe to use more than one box of lemon or yellow cake mix, the baking time deviates some. While using toothpicks or bamboo skewers can work, these cake testers won't make large punctures in the cake -- not that anyone would notice once frosted. The real added benefit of these testers is their protective case. They are very durable and the tester is securely held in place. The thin stainless steel wire wil not get bent or damaged by being tossed in the kitchen "junk" drawer.

I love these because they are sturdy enough to poke holes in my potatoes before baking. Great little gadget to have to check cake doneness!

Pricier than using a toothpick, but re-useable, and comes with a case to keep it clean and from bending! And you get 4 for the price, so you can give some to family or friends (tell them it's a home acupuncture kit when they look puzzled - only kidding!)
