How is it possible to be in love with a reinker? No clue, but I am. I make handmade books and journals, and I love using Tim's Grungepaper for my spines. Once I am done distressing and coloring, my spines look like I cut up an old weathered leather jacket. Perfect! But to get it that way, this Walnut Stain reinker is how I do it. Absolutely perfect color. Love, love, love it. My secret, I put some reinker in a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol, spray the grungepaper, then I drop a dropperful of the reinker on it and take a piece of foam and rub it all over. Then I scrunch up the paper, and run my nail or key over it to stress it, then take foam and darken those areas. Putting the alcohol spray on first, seems to soften the fibers and opens them up to receive the color. Works every time. I seal it after drying with a watered down spray of Claudine Hellmuth' s multi-medium matte. I use 3 very light coats. Hope that helps someone else to experiment! :-)

Sometimes Vintage Photo shade is too red on some paper tones.Walnut stain can be used instead or in combination to tone down the red hue.Love it.
