I am using this for a oil drain hook up that is in a tight space on a generator. There is not a lot of room between the hook up and the frame so this works great. Kind of unconventional using it under suction but doing the job just fine. I have showed it to a few other generator technicians and they are ordering one. Alarm in all quite happy.

Previously I was using a small rotary union designed for air applications to permit coolant thru the spindle of my large metal lathe and it was severely restrictive in providing a useful supply of coolant to keep internals of projects free of chips resulting in poor surface finishes. This new rotary union with 1/2" NPT threads provides unrestricted coolant flow to my projects now. I did break it in slowly after pumping good grease thru zerk and spinning at 105 RPM for about 10 minutes stopping to re-grease after 5 minute intervals. Then I hooked it up to my coolant pump with proper pipe fittings and started a new project, resulting in chip free flushing and better surface finish internally. The coolant is mixed with a water soluble oil which helps with any lubrication needs. I will getting another Rotary union for another project involving low-pressure hydraulic oil.

I have several hose reels that either leak or the swivel connector has broken. I was hoping this would be the solution to repairing them, but it did not seem to swivel freely. In fact, it does not swivel at all. I have not applied grease to the Zerk fitting yet, but out of the box it does not swivel. I am not sure if I need a special waterproof grease or if any grease will work, so I haven't greased the joint yet. It would seem like the joint would swivel at least a little if it just needed grease, so I don't know if adding grease will free it up. Very disappointed that this was not the solution to my problem.

If you need to replace your existing air hose reel swivel, look no further....this will last the home user a lifetime without ever worrying about it leaking. Well, you may want to lube it with grease every few years, it has the zerk fitting there and ready. I would rate this swivel at 6 stars if it were available! Nice

This is one of those parts you only need to look at to know it's made well. In hand, it feels tight, no wobble or play in the seals, though it turns with finger pressure. Machining and finish are flawless. It's pre-greased, but still stiff as new, tight clearances and new seals, it'll break in and last many years.
