I purchased this latch to replace the flimsily OEM latch that broke without very much use. The original easily cracked only about a year after I purchased my GMC Arcadia Denali. This replacement latch fit perfectly and is much more robust than the OEM latch. It installed easily.

I found this on a YouTube video and it saved me from taking my suv to the dealer to replace the latch. It’s worked amazingly and I can finally close my rooftop shade again. Highly recommend.

Fits 2018 GMC Acadia rear moon roof latch right over the original rivets. I have a hard time holding a drill and my arms above my head for several minutes at a time, due to arthritis. However, it didn't take me very long to drill pilot holes for the self tapping screws. Read the reviews and just make sure you install the latch the right side up so the clip catches on the lip when you close the shade. It took me about 20 minutes to install mostly because I needed to take breaks. Great value for the money, can't tell it's been replaced. Appears to be sturdy and good quality.

I replaced one of these on a old accadia I had and I had to drill out the old riviots and riviot the new one on and it was a pain to contain the metal shavings of drilling the old ones out. This one was much better as the old rivets could stay in place and just self tap the new one on. Definitely a better design. Will make for easier replacement again if it ever needa to be.

The moon roof latch on our 2018 Enclave broke so the moon roof has been open forever. Found this with the help of an auto parts store as the OEM catalog doesn't list a retainer as a separate available part for this car. Even this one wasn't explicit about the 2018 model but at this price it was easy to take a chance. Fit perfectly over the rivets so relatively easy to install. I say relatively because the self tapping screws still needed a pilot hole drilled in the frame in order for them to bite. Overall, took about 20 minutes to do the repair.

The original broke on the previous owners of our Acadia. they tried to glue it in, and that didn't last. This fixed it perfect. I just had to drill a tiny pilot hole to make it easier for the self tap screws. but everything fits correctly and I was able finally close my back sunroof shade.
