These are excellent lures! I kayak fish in streams, rivers, and lakes, and these catch fish everywhere! Small mouth bass, trout, sunfish, bluegill, the list goes on. The only downside for these lures is the little gap that simulates the front claws. The hook occasionally gets trapped in the gap. Sometimes recasting fixes it, other times I have to manually work the hook free. On one lure (I bought three different colors patterns of these), I replaced the back tri-hook with a larger single trailing hook and it works a little better in regards to not getting trapped on the lure.

These have been my favorite crank baits for probably close to twenty years. I’ve caught everything from bluegill, bass, crappie etc all the way up to a 14 pound blue cat on these. They are super durable and take beating the rocks and the occasional tree branch with ease. I wish they were as cheap as they were in the 90’s but I’ll definitely keep at least a dozen in the tackle box at all times.

I have had okay luck with this lure. Although I must say that New Mexico bass fishing is a different kind of fishing all on its own. It This lure has proven itself to be one of the most used in my tackle box. This lure is best used in clear water. I find I get the most hits using this with and some scent. I also have this same lure in red and that seems to just drive bass crazy. This lure in particular is hit more in the early morning hours. The thing I like best about this rig is its bright colors that stay bright and haven't faded. I have gone through some very poorly made lures and this one even through so much use has stood that test. The negative? I thought that both the red and the Chartreuse &Brown would be the same size. I was wrong. This one is just slightly smaller. I hope that this helps.

Basically everytime I fish I find myself reaching for one of these. I have every color. They absolutly catch fish. I have caught bass, all species of pan fish, crappies, even catfish on these. My wife even caught a longnose gar on one! These are some of the most prolific freshwater lures ever imo. Buy one and you won't regret it
