Received the replacement fan for our large fireplace. It was easy to install. I am very satisfied with the strength of the fan. On high, yes you can easily hear it, but it’s quieter than the old one. The first one was damaged, however the return & replacement time was much faster than expected considering I live in Alaska.

This product is not a direct replacement for a Quadrafire 4100 fireplace insert. It's actually made backwards. After a few modifications to install, finally got it working and it blows very weak.

I've replaced the blower fan in our fireplace a couple of times over the last 15 years and they were satisfactory. This blower fan has been the best one so far. It pretty quiet, but by far blows out more air than the others ever did. Not too strong, but enough that my wife and I can feel a difference of 2-3 degrees over the last one. Installation was just as difficult as the last two due to the tight space into which it has to be installed. Placement of the thermostat on the bottom of the metal firebox is important. At first, the blower would frequently cycle on and off. But after repositioning the thermostat underneath and closer to the center of the firebox, the blower stayed on when the thermostat reached the fireplace temperature. I would given this item 5 stars if it were possible to determine its reliability over time. So far, it's working great 👍.

I bought this blower kit because it was small enough to fit through the opening below my fireplace which was limited to less than four inches. When I unboxed it, all appeared to be correct and undamaged. Installation was straight forward in spite of the poorly printed instructions. For one, the adhesive pads don’t work well enough to hold the blower in place. Second, the instructions say to stick the magnet with the thermistor to the underside of the firebox. On my installation, it’s a double bottom, and that underside never gets hot enough to turn on the fan, so I had to place the thermistor inside the firebox, close enough to the heat to engage. The unit finally started running for about two minutes then stopped. Since I hadn’t permanently mounted anything, I pulled everything out and started seeing tiny sparks and whiffs of smoke coming from the control knob. I got in contact with Amazon and arranged for a replacement unit. I kept the old one until the new one arrived. I’m glad I did.The replacement unit arrived a few days later. Immediately, I saw that the connector on the motor itself was broken and the lead just dangling by its wire. Using the blower from the first kit, I mounted it inside the fireplace using ceramic magnets I bought at the hardware store. They’re more than strong enough to hold the motor in place. I also bought some 14 gauge wire and a set of spade clips to create a 24-inch “extension” cord for the thermistor so I can mount it inside the firebox amongst the logs. Again, got everything test fitted and (literally) fired up. But this time nothing was happening. Checking around I discovered that the thermistor was not closing despite being hot. Swapped it with the thermistor from the first kit and within a minute the blower was turning. I mounted everything permanently, closed the access panel and called it good. So, between a fiery control knob in one kit, and a damaged motor and faulty thermistor in another, I was able to cobble together one working system. I packaged all the remaining parts back into the box and returned it to Amazon. Now once it’s all in and running, I like it. The blower is a bit loud when full but not terrible. It kicks on within a couple minutes of turning the fireplace on, and it runs for about five minutes after it is turned off, and does circulate a respectable amount of air. It’s worked rather well these past frigid days.As mentioned, the instructions are poorly printed, with pages out of sequence and orientation. The adhesive pads are worthless and the wiring harness doesn’t allow for good placement of the thermistor. And the quality of the parts is questionable. That’s why I say order two, and between them you’ll probably get one working unit. Magnets for the motor and an extension cord for the thermistor were a must. But once it works, it works pretty well.

I was looking for a replacement fan for my Dutch West wood insert and was shocked at the $500+ cost to purchase a new one. I took apart the old fan and the measurements for this replacement blower were real close. It took me a few weeks of trial and error to find the best placement of the fan, but ultimately, I was able to put this blower to use. Heat output is virtually the same as the previous blower I had.The heat sensor that shuts the fan on and off is AWESOME. The components of this blower look durable and I'm confident they will last in the environment where my fire is burning 16 hours per day. The only downside is the noise, which sounds like someone vacuuming when I'm in the next room with the door closed. While Dutch West is not listed, if you can remove the fan from that model wood insert, you'll can install this unit and save hundreds.

Installed easily and worked well to start. Lasted the 1st winter, but a few weeks into the second winter it stopped. Motor hums, but blower won't spin.
