These were impossible to pull apart without water. After soaking them a bit they started cooperating. They are not very kind to the skin on your hands, after pulling apart the first one I had to get gloves.My corn snake likes it and is able to burrow the way she likes.

Let me say this with keeping snakes. The pieces even when broken up, can remain chucker...that is easier to remove if your snake attempts to swallow it while eating a prey item...I hope this helps new keepers watch your animals during feeding.

I don't write reviews hardly ever, and I was hoping my order wouldn't reflect some of the other reviews on here complaining of plastic. But as of December 2024 this company is still shipping out reptile mulch that has mold and plastic pieces in it. Both of these are so so dangerous to pets. Some of the plastic is tiny and then I pulled out a black strand that is multiple feet long, this is a huge choking hazard. I'm going to have to throw all of this out, waste of money. Reeks of mold. Highly upset with this order.
