Great fit form and function! The thermostats and limit switch are identical to OE and I love the non-curved elements with higher wattage that actually use LESS power to run. When you remove the old curved style, you may have to use a screwdriver to bend the element end down so you can remove it from the hole. Look it up on youtube, it's easy.

This kit was the answer for re-booting my no longer hot, water heater. Both thermostats lined up right where the originals had been placed, and the gaskets on the two new elements ensured zero leakage once installed. Very happy with the quality of each of the pieces.

So far so good. Installed this kit on my rheem water heater the old anode rod was gone. And it ate the elements too. Hot water tank is up and running now. !!!

This is an acceptable repair kit with seemingly quality parts. The title is misleading however as the kit is not genuine Rheem parts. I used this kit on my 80 gallon Rheem electric hot water heater. I decided on this set based upon others' reviews and it appeared to be compatible with my unit. Replacing the thermostats are a breeze just be sure to take a picture before you take wires off so you know how to reconnect them. Replacing the elements were trickier. It look a 2' breaker bar, a special socket, and lots of force. After removing them I discovered the ones included in the kit were not exact matches. The elements in my water heater were 240v and 3000w. The elements in the kit are 240v but 4500w. Concerned with installing a higher wattage element I called a friend of the family electrician for some guidance. If your water heater is wired to a 30 amp breaker and has #10 wire running from the breaker to the water heater then using the higher wattage is acceptable. If not, then return the elements for an exact match as it's not worth the fire risk. Luckily I had the correct wiring for a safe upgrade. Installing went easily and it is helpful to add some teflon tape the threads of the elements. It should go without saying but make sure you turn off the breaker before working on your water hester. Overall a solid kit but dissapointed it was Rheem brand as advetised.

This was a long time in coming. My water heater has been performing below the idea for a long time and the price of a new unit prevented me from replacing it. My unit is over 22 years old and has no sign of leakage. In the 22 years I have lived here I have drained the tank three times, and that was not a full drain. I watched a Youtube video showing how to replace the heater element and thought I would give it a try when I got around to it. I had an element on my 'wish list' for a very long time but recently saw a listing on Amazon for not only both elements, but the thermostats as well and all for $33.00 So for that small amount I would have essentially a new heater. Removing the elements would allow me to assess the condition of the inside of the tank. If I encountered a lot of mineral build up I would know that this repair was only a band-aid. A friend who owns a plumbing company warned me that in all likelihood the element would be seized and not come out easily, and that it was possible to rip out the threads with the element. I was warned that if it still worked at all to leave it alone until it was done for and then replace it with a new energy efficient model. I followed the basic instructions; doing the thermostats first. Next I was to replace the bottom element since when I do the top it will spill onto the bottom work area. Neither element came loose with fairly heavy effort. There is a rubber 'o' ring between the threads and the tank so I knew it couldn't be seized at that point it must be the threads. I soaked the threaded area on both elements with PB Blaster and waited a half hour before trying again. I had bought the tool recommended and it wouldn't budge either. With continuous effort the tool began to slip on the element collar. I soaked it again with PB Blaster and waited another 30 minutes. In the meantime I went to my tool box and got out a half inch drive breaker bar. I took the new element to my container of heavy duty truck sockets and found the one that fit best.It was actually a metric socket but the size escapes my memory. I took this to the heater and with less effort than to remove a wheel lug nut I felt it come loose slowly and smoothly. I then moved to the other and the same thing occurred - they were both loose. I backed them out about a turn, sprayed more PB on them and then tightened them again. I waited awhile and then with a rocking tighten -loosen-tighten loosen motion I backed them about halfway out with no effort. I changed back to that lightweight tool and did the quick change - pulled out the old one and quickly slapped in the new one, starting it by hand before using the tool and a final tighten with my bar. I followed the instructions on how to properly fill the heater and turn it back on. I tested it in about 45 minutes and it worked magnificently as if it were new. So for 33 dollars and a couple hours of patient work time I have hot water. I am very happy with both the product and the company. The key is take your time and watch the how-to videos.

Worked perfect on my Rheem 40gal water heater. Advise you have a 1-1/2" socket and impact wrench to make the task curse free,

This kit saved me from spending $500+ on replacing my 58 gallon water heater. I went from having warm water to cold water and after some digging around and help from a family member I was told the heating element should be replaced, and since I was replacing that I figured the thermostat should be replaced as well.Honestly the thermostat was the easiest since it doesn't require water spraying everywhere. The heating element was a pain for me(plumbing is off) and I managed to fill my garage up with tons of water. I would recommend getting the heater element wrench, that made a world of difference.Something you should consider if you don't want to damage your thermostat. Once everything is connected and you are able to fill the tank back up with no visible leak. Release all the air from the water heater and once you start getting water, run all the faucets in the house on hot for about three minutes THEN turn on the power to the water heater.I had hot water within an hour after I installed this kit. If you use a stainless heating element expect to wait a while for some hot water.
