I was reluctant since I’ve never done this before. I used coarse 60 - 180 sandpaper to start to smooth out the damage. Make sure the rim is smooth as possible. Clean it with dish soap then sanitize it with rubbing alcohol. I applied using the brush, dried with a heat gun from a distance, then applied a second layer. I used the super fine sandpaper it came with to smooth out any bumps, cleaned it then applied one final coat.The color for the Highland Photon wheel is spot on. Thank you for an amazing product!

This is a great option for Tesla owners and their wheels. I like the applicator ( which reminds me of nail polish). the product is easy to apply and matches my wheel perfectly.

lowk the painting pen works so well! it was super smooth to apply on it. and the package comes with the scratch paper, so it’s easy to do the work. and it works perfectly with the gemini black!

Matched 23 Model 3 Aero wheels. Make sure you sand or grind down the curb rash with last sanding of 400 grit or higher to smooth out the curb rash. Then paint. Looks pretty good to me.

This paint was advertised to match Tesla uberturbine stock wheels and its significantly lighter than the dark grey. So much so that it’s actually a different color so it CANT be blamed on the “batch†or whatever excuse they give.

Understand that this is just paint - it won't fill gouges. But given that, it worked great - covered the bare metal that was showing through in spots and matched the color of the wheel rims perfectly. Be sure you check the color of your wheels on your Tesla specs before ordering. I thought mine were a different color, but the ordered color matched my specs perfectly. I had done a number on my one wheel by hitting a curb and had scratches all around. There was enough paint to go around the whole wheel.

There are pictures of people who have posted their Model Y Uberturbine wheels with the COSLAKE gunpowder touch up rim paint on it, and you can see difference in the shade of color. I've found the T Sportline gunpowder touch up rim paint to perfectly match the Uberturbine rim color, but it's so small and expensive to replace.If you want a touch up paint that's cheap and about 90-95% accurate with the Model Y Uberturbine rim, then this paint will work perfectly for you. If you want something that's exactly the same and perfect, then you're going to need a slightly darker shade paint. I also tried the "darker" COSLAKE photon grey touch up rim paint but that actually looks lighter than the gunpowder paint.

I tried it without sanding and it looked quite bad. Stopped to sand it properly before applying and it looks like a pretty good colour match especially for the price

Perfect colour match for my 24' Model 3 Highland photon wheels, metallic fleck is identical to factory. Paint is the ideal viscosity and easy to apply with the applicator, goes on nice and smooth and finish looks identical to factory once dried. I had a couple of decent chunks exposed to bare metal and can’t even tell it has been touched up now. See photos for reference, close up and normal distance.

Just got around to using this pen… Warning label says its toxic and could possibly cause cancer?? why sell something so dangerous!

It is lighter than the photon wheel cover. Doesn’t match at all.

Paint didn’t match rims as it stated it would. Paint was also partially dried upon arrival. Pretty annoyed!!
