Attached easily and securely to the rim of my fish tank and kept the water level where I wanted it while I was on vacation for two weeks.

I started using Coca Cola bottles and they shrank and no air entered the bottles causing all the water to come out at once. Now I put a very rigid plastic bottle and I have no problems. good to know: the longest tube will always be submerged and the shortest one, when it is discovered, causes water to fall. 2 tips: cut the tubes longer than the width of the tube so that air can enter better and water is replenished more constantly. Do not use very large bottles as the weight causes the plastic to crack. My bottle is 750ml and it is perfect!

Not sturdy enough to hold any considerable amount of water, and it siphoned extra into the tank several times. Great concept and idea, poor follow through.

I use this when going on short trips, keeps the tank topped up perfectly and cheaply.

Anyone having issues with this system has likely not seated their o-ring properly. It needs to be taken out and stretched out a bit before it will make a proper seal.I read elsewhere that Evian bottles are good for these systems. Beware, that bottle’s mouth is too wide. Find a rigid plastic bottle with the proper mouth width. I found a 1L vinegar spray bottle from the dollar store that fits perfectly and works great. Make sure you rinse it out well as fish/animals are sensitive to it.
