I ordered five boxes of these bricks to line my outdoor fireplace. I was a bit skeptical about ordering them due to all of the people who received broken bricks. Of 150 bricks, only one was broken in half and was still usable, one had a chpped corner and was still usable. The bricks are light, easy to cut and easy to work with. Inititial impressions are very positive. Hopefully they will hold up long term,

The recommended replacement bricks by the manufacturer of our wood stove was more than double the cost of these, and for less number (18 for $240). These replacement bricks have a higher temperature rating and after a week's worth of wood burning, surprisingly no burn marks as was the issue with the original bricks (I do expect discoloration at some point though).I'd give these 5 stars had it not been for the packaging, which was simply a cardboard box with a thin layer of bubble wrap between layers of bricks, much of which had already lost it's air bubble protection. Hence, three bricks were broken. I'm sure part of the issue with broken bricks lies with the shipping/delivery folks. I think if the manufacturer repackaged these in a solid wood crate, they'd have many more happy customers. Even with the broken brick issue, I'd buy these again.

I’m so glad that I changed the old bricks didn’t realize the bricks were so disintegrated easy to cut with old hand saw the bricks have held up well in wood stove highly recommend this item

30 for 30 on good bricks. I was expecting 5 to 12 to be broken. They must have improved the packaging, or the reports for the broken ones were the 3/4" bricks. These are 1-1/4.

When I received the box, the bricks were broken up. Seven of the bricks were broken.
