Every vehicle we have with a receiver has a hitch in it so if anyone rear ends us, the hitch takes the impact rather than messing up our bumper. I bought this for my sons truck for an extra hitch we had. Worked perfect. The hairpin clip was a little hard to get in, but that means it won’t come out easily. Good in my opinion.

I bought a pin at a big box store and regretted it. The pin was impossible to slide open. Buy these. They are just like a factory pin.
